Object: To study the microtopography of the pineal region in cadaveric heads infused with colored PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) and compare the exposure obtained through seven different microsurgical approaches to the pineal region by simulating microsurgery in cadaveric heads. The results could use for reference when choosing surgical approach in clinics. and modify the currently used surgical approach, to obtain an excellent exposure for the pineal region.Method : This experiment divide to three parts: In the first part discuss the technique of infusing cadaveric heads, by comparing different infusing material, we select PMMA as the prime infusing material , and increase the proportion of Santicizer (dibutyl phthalate; DBP) in the solution of PMMA, which can improve the flexibility of the specimens' vascular. And suit the specimens to microsurgical anatomy ;In the second part, we study the microsurgical anatomy of the pineal region by observing the blood vessels, adjacent structures and cisterns in the pineal region with operating microscope(×7-12 times), measuring the distance...
