Gastric cancer is one of the most prevalent malignancies in our country and appears to elicit a main research interesting involved the field of gastrointestinal oncology. The failure of successful chemotherapy to such tumors might be caused by the reasons for development of drug-resistance and multidrug-resistance.These enable us to be provided some insights into findings of newly effective antitumor agents and characterized targeting immunotoxin.Defensins are highly abundant and variably cationic peptides that possess antimicrobial, cytotoxic, chemoattractant properties .Human neutrophil peptides(HNP) are included in such family.The possible utility of such peptides as a novel theraputical agent in cancer treatment is still unknown.The aim of the present study will converge the antitumor activity of these peptides in cultured gastric cancer cell line versus tumor-bearing nude mice in vivo.Part I.
