Objective: Renal fibrosis is a common pathology process of final stage of chronic progressive kidney disease. Its main pathological change is glomerular sclerosis and interstitial fibrosis. No effective methods can intercept the process of renal fibrosis at present. Much difficulty exist in substitution therapy and kidney transplant. Therefore, only by finding a kind of effective method to intercept, even to delay the development of renal fibrosis, can we postpone, even to prevent the forming of renal failure from the root.According to traditional Chinese medicine theory that"invalidism induce to blood stasis"and"invalidism invade collateral", and combining with clinical practice, we design a traditional Chinese medicine recipe-Shenluotong which includes traditional Chinese medicine of dispersing blood stasis and dredging collateral, such as Angle worm, Zaocys, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Astragalus mongholicus, et al. Clinical observation and prophase study tentative confirm that this recipe has effect of reducing Urine protein and blood-fat, raising plasma protein, and improving renal function. In the study, we made chronic renal failure (CRF) rat model by 5/6 nephrectomy. With treatment by Shenluotong, we observe changes of two degradation enzyme systems and relevant regulating factors including PAI-1, TIMP-1 and CTGF in renal fibrosis proceeding and study its possible mechanism of action deeply.
