Objective: Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (Tongue cancer) is one of the most common malignancies of oral maxillofacial region. Recently, although great advancements are made in diagnosis and clinical treatment of tongue cancer, the survival rate of the patients is not obviously improved. Meanwhile the tumor is easy to relapse after surgery. It is difficult to resect the relapse tumor surgically. Therefore, it is imperative to find an early diagnosis way and a perfect auxiliary therapeutic treatment. With the progress of research for oncogene, it has been realized that tumourigenesis is a complicated procedure involved multiple factor and polygene mutations. It is now recognized that two types of cancer genes were enrolled, oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes. Tumour suppressor gene is a kind of gene to suppress the tumor growth and to regulation cell proliferation and cell differentiation. p53 gene was discovered early and had been researched widely. p53 gene appears to play an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of tumors. About more than 50% malignant tumor have p53 gene mutations and p53 protein abnormality expression. As a new method for tumor therapy, it has a longer development in the experimental research of gene theary. Documents about gene therapy on animal models loaded various tumors have been reported. The suicide gene treatment also named virus directed enzyme prodrug therapy (VDEPT). The theory of this method is that the tumor cells transduced with suicide gene could metabolize the atoxic pro-drug into poison, which would depress the DNA synthesis and could kill or wound the tumor cells. The immunity factor is one of the cellular regulator agents, which could enhance the body immunological function and could enlarge the body immunologic reaction. If two pathways are combined, they will get the maximum kill effect on tumor...
