Objective To discuss the efficacy and advantage of the treatment of CASPRLT on the patients of acute cerebral infarction with motor dysfunction, and to explain the importance of stimulus quantity in such treatment. Methods With Fugl-Meyer Assessment, Modified Barthel Index, Chinese Scale of Clinical Neurological Deficit, clinical effect, somatosensory evoked potential and cerebral blood flow as indexes, this study clinically observed the patients' motor function, nerve function, activity of daily living, incubation period and wave amplitude and abnormality rate of somatosensory evoked potential, systolic bloodstream improvement of anterior, middle cerebral arteries. The patients were divided into four groups: the group of scalp-point cluster acupuncture(retaining time-6h),the group of conventional scalp acupuncture (retaining time-6h), the group of scalp-point cluster acupuncture(retaining time-30min), the group of conventional scalp acupuncture (retaining time-30min). Results In the improvement of acute cerebral infarction patients' motor function, clinical effect, correcting abnormality rate of SEP, quickening the systolic blood flow rate of anterior, middle cerebral arteries, the clinical observation shows that, the groups of scalp-point cluster acupuncture are superior to the groups of conventional scalp acupuncture with the same time of retaining needle (P<0.05), the group of cluster acupuncture on scalp-point by retaining 6h is superior to the group of cluster acupuncture on scalp-point by retaining 30min (P<0.01), the total clinical effect of scalp-point cluster acupuncture(6h) reaches 96.15%. In enhancing the patient's activity of daily living, the group of cluster acupuncture on scalp-point by retaining 6h has the same effect as the group of conventional scalp acupuncture by retaining 6h, but the group of scalp-point cluster acupuncture(6h) is superior to the group of scalp-point cluster acupuncture(30min) (P<0.05). Conclusions The cluster acupuncture on scalp-point by retaining long time can more effectively improve the motor dysfunction of the patients with acute cerebral infarction, correct the abnormality rate of SEP, increase cerebral blood flow than conventional scalpacupuncture, showing that stimulus quantity plays an important role in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction with scalp acupuncture.
