| The current studies of small irregular changes of R-to-R interval, named heart rate variability (HRV), are focused on observing the influence of autonomic tones on the sinus nodal autonomy. This paper considers that the electrical activities of atrial and ventricular myocardium possess the variability, and that they can provide information, which is different from HRV, for revealing the latent pathological changes of the heart. Based on the concepts concerning the morphology of electrocardiogram (ECG) carrying the information of electrophysiological characteristics of the myocardium, this paper presented a new method to reflect the electro-myocardial variability (EMV) through beat-to-beat analysis of the morphological changes of ECG. The relevant techniques of extracting the tiny changes of ECG were discussed, and were used to probe into the phenomena of EMV. The creative work in this paper include:1. It proposed a new viewpoint that the atrial and ventricular electrical activities possessing the variability which may help to study the autonomic adjustment of the atria or ventricles and to reveal the potential electrophysiological abnormalities of the myocardium.2. It established a new method to exhibit the phenomena of EMV through beat-to-beat analysis of the morphological changes of P waves, QRS waves and T waves. The involved new techniques include:(1) A method of wavelate-denoising was developed based on the idea of estimating the noise level on the T-P intervals of ECG, which implemented the high resolution processes of ECG on single beat basis.(2) An algorithm of recognizing the small difference among the ECG... |
