[Purpose]To investigate the biocompatibility and biomec -hanical properties of rabbit bladder extracellular matrix (BECM) and evaluate the feasibility of using BECMs as scaffolds for reconstruction of tissue engineering urinary tract.[Materials and Methods] 1. Biocompatibility of rabbit BECM(1) Rabbit bladders were decellularized by the methods of hypso diosmosis-enzymatic extraction-chemical detergent to prepare BECMs. Rabbit urinary bladder transitonal epithelial cell were cultured and seeded on BECM in vitro. The adhesion and proliferation of the cells on BECM were observed. MTT method was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of BECM.(2) BECMs were implanted into the back of rabbits, and the toxicity, degradation and local inflammatory response were studied through gross observation and HE staining to evaluate the histocompatibility.
