The Study Of Correlation Between B Lymphocyte Stimulator And SLE Disease Activity

Objective To determine the expression of B lymphocyte stimulator( BlyS) and BlyS mRNA in peripheral blood white cells from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE), to inverstigate the correlations between the BlyS levels or the BlyS mRNA expressions with the ACR criteria relative clinic manifestations or disease activity.Methods patients Plasma and cells from 46 patients with systemic lupus ervthematosus and 20 normal controll were assayed for BlyS and BlyS mRNA by a antigen-capture enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and reverse transcription( RT-PCR). Measure SLE disease activity by SLE Disease Activity Index Scores(SLEDAI).Results1. The Plasma Blys levels in SLE patients were higher than the control group(P<0. 01 ). The Plasma Blys levels were higher in paients with neuropathy or immunology abnormity or blood abnormity or kidney abnormity than the other patients(P<0. 01orP<0. 05).2. The Plasma Blys levels in SLE patients were higher than the control group(P<0. 01 ).There was no difference between the stable group and the active group(P>0.05). This kind of clinic manifestations will be the indication of Blys antagon.
