To investigated the blood supply of hepatic alveolar echinococcus using the modern imaging technology in both clinical cases and Wistar rat model. The results of multi-slice spiral CT, LUF hepatic arterial injection and indirect portal vein digital substraction aniography showed that the disease was supplied predominantly by hepatic artery, and there exists the blood supply of portal vein. The portal vein injection in Wistar rat model also proved partial portal blood supply of the disease. It is a reliable method for the interventional therapy through portal vein. The study provided theoretical evidence for the interventional therapy through hepatic artery and portal vein.
