This article, centered on Zhu Yunming, carries out investigation and research on the cursive creation of near a century of Wumen Calligraphy School in the middle of Ming Dynasty, analyzes its diversity and cause of style, features and influence, and further analyzes its gains and losses under wide field of vision of calligraphy history. This article, taking the appreciation of Wumen Calligraphy School in the Middle Ming Dynasty as the breakthrough point, explores the direct influence of collection of ancient calligraphy and paintings highly craved by Wumen calligraphers in such period on the practice of cursive writing, with the most obvious point focusing on the prevalence of traditional calligraphic style of two famous calligraphers (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi) and Huaisu cursive calligraphic style in this period. On the basis of such point of research, the article further discusses the calligraphic features of Wumen Calligraphy School.The second chapter and third chapter of the thesis carry out study on the causes and artistic features of cursive calligraphic style of Zhu Yunming separately. The cursive tradition with no lack of talents since its history of Suzhou, the exceptional ethos in Middle Ming Dynasty, the distinctive mad spirit of Wumen scholars as well as the prevalence of large banner of a hall, are all conditioned by the vigorous growth of Wumen cursive calligraphic style centered by Zhu Yunming in this period, while the equal importance of "skill" and "property" laid in the calligraphic thoughts of Zhu Yunming makes him both enter the ancient times and come out of novelty, and enables him a representative of cursive calligraphy in this period, his creation in both line connotation and space form makes Wumen cursive calligraphic style an importance link in the history of calligraphy.The chapter four in this article surveys the relation between Zhu Yunming and Chen Chun, Wang Chong, Wen Peng and Wen Jia in Wu’men school, through the analysis on social intercourse, prefaces and postscripts, poems and essays as well as calligraphic styles, it restores the objective situation that Zhu Yunming and them, although having no master-apprentice reputation, have the master-apprentice relation in fact, and displays the overall pattern of Wumen cursive calligraphic style.At last, the articles carries out rather specific study on the gains and losses of the practice of Wumen cursive calligraphic style, investigates its importance significance in the development process of calligraphy history from the point of line change, which deeply affecting the practice of semi-cursive script of calligraphers thereafter. Meanwhile, such line change also brings about the frequent occurrence of wrong writing phenomenon. In addition, the infiltration of cursive style into other calligraphic styles is also one of unique phenomena among its influence.
