Extension Research On Mining Investment Environment In Five Countries Around Yunnan Province

The doctoral dissertation title of The Extension Study on Mining Investment Environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries is selected on the scientific research requirements for the project "The evaluation of the potential of mineral resources at the junction of China and Vietnam (Northern Vietnam) bordering the Red River Valley as well as its technical and economic prospects by applying GIS and remote sensing technology" (item number:2002GH11)Mineral resources which are the material basis for human survival are an important part of natural resources as well as are scarce and non-renewable.Because the distribution of mineral resources in the countries of the world is quite uneven,therefore no country in the world can do self-sufficiency of mineral resources. So the trade and investment of mineral resources between countries has become an important issues in modern international politics.With China’s sustained and rapid economic and social development, the consumption of important mineral resource is growing faster than its production growth,the trend of rapid and large consumption of mineral resources is difficult to reverse in the short-term,the contradictions of supply and demand have become increasingly prominent, the overall level of protection of mineral resources is inadequate. As the limitations of domestic mineral resources, only domestic production capacity of mineral resources can not meet the growing demand, therefore our country needs multiple channels to improve the protection capacity of mineral resources supply. So mineral resources in the implementation of transnational business and development have become an essential way for securing the supply of mineral resources.Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries (Thailand、Myanmar、Vietnam、Cambodia、Laos) have abundant mineral resources such as copper、bauxite、potash、oil etc, which are Chinese shortage of mineral resources. These countries and Yunnan Province have a good traffic environment, which creates a good condition for our cross-border investment in the mining.In order to carry out cross-border investment in mining,first of all, we have to make scientific researches on the mining investment environment of the countries which receive investment.Extension was put forward by a Chinese scholar whose name is Professor Cai Wen in 1983, which is an original cross-sectional subject.lt applies the formal model to explore the possibility of things to expand as well as Pioneering and innovative laws and methods, and to resolve contradictions.By applying the extension theory、the conjugate analysis theory、the correlation function theory、the eclectic theory of international production and investment development path theory in the investment theory of transnational corporations,this thesis has carried out deep analyses and discussions on mining investment environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries from the combining perspective of the theory、policy、practice.In this paper,the author has put forward a new theory in which mining investment environment will be divided into the eight components which have the real and the imaginary、the hard and the soft、the latent and the apparent、the positive and the negative.At the same time,the writer has constructed the extensible comprehensive evaluation model in order to achieve the extension evaluation of foreign mining investment environment.The rich constructive and workable proposals are put forward.The results are achieved in the following five areas:1. This paper uses extension analysis principle to make researches on the current situation of China’s mineral resources.After obtaining the implication system of the current situation of China’s mineral resources,this article respectively elaborates on the characteristics of China’s mineral resources、supply and demand status of China’s mineral resources、the inevitability of future growth in demand of China’s mineral resources and China’s foreign trade of mineral resources. At last,the paper comes to the conclusion that it is necessary for China to establish the global configuration of mineral resources.2. The article applies the eclectic theory of international production and investment development path theory which are put forward by Professor Deng Ning to explain the motives of investment in mining market of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries from the national level in detail so as to make the conclusion more convincing.3. From the six aspects of the country profiles、geology and mineral resources、mining and mineral policy management system、investment policies and financial tax system infrastructure、the main advantages and disadvantages,this paper elaborates on the mining environment of Yunnan five neighboring countries in detail.And then this thesis puts mining environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries into conjugate analysis from the point of conjugate analysis principle of Extension theory,the paper first puts forward the theory in which mining investment environment will be divided into the eight components which have the real and the imaginary、the hard and the soft、the latent and the apparent、the positive and the negative.And this theory is applied to analyse the mining investment environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries.The article divides mining investment environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries into real and imaginary environment for mining investment、hard and soft investment environment for mining investment、latent and apparent investment environment for mining investment、negative and positive investment environment for mining investmen.Based on the comparative analysis,the article draws a series of highly useful investment conclusions.4. Based on associated tree model of Extension theory,the evaluation index system of mining investment environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries is built and then the extensible comprehensive evaluation model is set up by using the correlation function.The thesis makes a rigorous scientific appraisal of mining investment environment of Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries,and then draws the conclusions in line with the reality.5. Based on the previous research and analysis,the paper puts forward the development direction in which China will carry out mining co-operation with the Yunnan Province’s neighboring five countries、short-term goal、the recommendations of the behavior of entering the mining market of the five countries as well as the proposal of entry mode choice.
