This dissertation systematically studies and presents the multi-objective workforce scheduling problem of multiple construction projects and proposed the mathematical models and solving methods for this problem, and case studies and project validations were carried out for evaluation of their effectiveness and efficiency. In the first place, traditional finish-start precedence relation is pointed out not covering the whole precedence relations in construction, and generalized precedence relations(GPRs) and modified AON is introduced to meet needs of actual situations. Secondly, a basic model for resource constrained workforce scheduling problems with generalized precedence relations(RCWSP/GPRs) is put forward, and which is extended to the situation of multi-project and multi-objective optimization. To solve these problems, an methodology based on the improved Cuckoo Search(ICS) algorithm is designed and introduced to optimize those problems. Finally, the mathematical model and solving method for the resources constrained multi-objective workforce scheduling problems with GPRs are researched and presented. In addtition, an integer programing model for resource constrained multiskilled workforce scheduling problems with generalized precedence relations is presented. To evaluate the model system and solving methodology established in this dissertation, some cases and experiments including standard PSLIB datasets, three real construction projects, and the actual construction projects of Guilin University of Electronic Technology in Beihai district are taken into experimental research, and the results demonstrate that, the presented models are scientific and the solving methods are effective, these models and solving methods are applicable to solve the resources scheduling and optimization problems in construciton engineering organization.
