In the process of economic globalization, products and markets competition isbecoming increasingly fierce and unpredicable, the control resources in the corporateborder, human capital is becoming more and more important for corporates to maintainsustainable competitive advantage because its own special attributes. As more and morecorporates concerne about how human resources practices promote the formation of humancapital, and then forming strategic human capital. Meantime, interactive mechanismbetween strategic human capital and corporate sustained competitive advantage has beenthe problem of natural growing concern of many scholars. what is the connotation ofstrategic human capital? How many configuration of human capital included based onbusiness strategy?How does this kind of human capital create value and promote thecorporate to obtain sustainable competitive advantage? There are not a clear exposition anda well-recognized conclusion to these problems.From business strategic perspective, the paper studies the configuration of strategichuman capital, the strategic human resource value creation, the effect of strategic humancapital to corporate sustainable competitive advantage, and the intermediary role of thestrategic human capital as logic chain. Based on one of the strategic human resourcemanagement theories resource-based of the view. Through conducting interviews with20company executives in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and through effective questionnairesfrom the general manager, human resources managers and line managers in779Chineseenterprises. The paper get a deep understanding for the connotation of strategic humancapital, the configuration of human capital and its formation mechanisms and how itpromotes corporate to get corporate sustainable competitive advantage. It can generate andeffective use of strategic human capital through human resource management practices. Allthese can help corporates get theory reason and empirical support.The contribution of this paper and the innovative points include the following twoaspects:First, this paper defines the connotation of strategic human capital, and partition theconfiguration of the strategic human capital from three aspects of the knowledge, skills, andcapabilities through qualitative research methods, which are divided into internal humancapital and external human capital, and establishes the measurement system to figure outstrategic human capital, all these are theoretical innovation. It has important theoreticalsignificance for further enriching and improving the strategic human resource managementtheory. At the same time, the study makes clear the classification of strategic human capitalin organizations and provides support for strategic human resource management practice.Second, in the study of the mechanism of strategic human capital formation and thepromotion of sustainable competitive advantage for corporate, the paper brings business layer analysis unit and external environment factor of China, as well as strategic humancapital as an intermediary variables into the research area, which further deepen the studyof strategic human capital. All these are innovation in practice. This paper provides a testfor Chinese corporate management practice in situation based on the best practice of themainstream coming from abroad about strategic human resource management, and enrichesthe contingent perspective of strategic human resource management research and provides anew solution to the question of "black box".
