As a new economic organization pattern, industry cluster (IC) has its unique advantages compared with other models of "regional agglomeration economy" including economic and technological development zone, high-new technology industrial development zone, industrial garden area and so on. IC consists of enterprises that output different products on the same value chain, which is beneficial for reducing market transaction cost, speeding up technological innovation, maintaining social stability, and even bringing about several positive economic effects. In general, IC is defined as geographic agglomeration of firms specialized in one related industries, which is considered to enhance the. performance or success of its firms. The relationships occurring in an IC represent a competitive advantage for the firms located in its area.However, it can’t be denied that IC’s management is indispensable. In any case, to construct an IC is challenging. It has been proved that without scientific management, there is no lack of phenomenon about agglomeration diseconomy in the area of economics. And all these internal and external factors urge us to take serious consideration that a solution should be found out, in order to go through the obstacles faced by IC.In this case, this dissertation addresses the management theory and practice of industrial clusters based on the integration management. It’s divided logically into eight chapters as follows.Chapter 1 is the preface. It mainly introduces the research background, conducts a systematic and detailed literature review about IC and integration management, brings out the theoretical and practical significances, the objectives of the research, draws up the study methods, technology roadmap and analysis framework of the research.In Chapter 2, the basic theory of IC is discussed. It explores the inner-logic relationship among IC and other economic development patterns of "regional agglomeration economy". This discussion shows the reasons why IC emerges, simultaneously, it expatiates on the definition, evolution path, characteristics, classifications and density analysis and historical evolution motivation.Chapter 3 elaborates on the force field and administration mechanism of the IC. After addressing the challenges and problems that IC faces, it expatiates on the necessity of carrying out IC’s management. Based on the study of field theory and clusters force field theory, it puts forward the evaluation model of integration internal force, which shows that the magnitude of IC’s internal force illustrates its competitiveness. Further, it draws forth management issues of IC and offers a proposal, which suggests that optimizing operation environment, enhancing quality of clustered enterprises, narrowing psychological distance between supply and requisition parties inside IC are keys of IC’s management.Chapter 4 systematically analyzes the development strategy and tactics of IC. It probes into the idea innovation of IC’s strategy, establishes a strategy and policy supporting system. From the viewpoint of integration theory, it selects the slippers IC situated in Fuzhou CS district as an object of case analysis, and then proposes strategy and tactics countermeasures after a detailed analysis of the present situation.Chapter 5 studies on the organization patterns of the IC. Firstly it analyzes the motivation of IC’s organization structuralization. Secondly, it reviews scholars’study on IC’s organization theory both at home and abroad.Thirdly, it elaborates on three typical organization structures of IC. Lastly, it puts forward the recommendations to improve the level of IC’s organization structuralization by constructing an association of IC.In Chapter 6, the interface management of IC is discussed. Exploring the reasons of formation and evolution law of interface contradiction inside IC are two basic premises of resolving the interface conflicts. By means of logistic illation, it concludes the evolution law of IC’s interface contradiction, divides the whole process of interface contradiction development into five periods. Further, the properties, characteristics, and main attributes of every period are discussed. Finally, it explains the implication of the study to IC’s interface management from the point of philosophy.In Chapter 7, the governance structure model of IC is discussed. It distinguishes the definition of structure and governance structure, besides, governance structure and managerial hierarchy. It reviews the studies about governance model and explores its formation mechanism. Further, a new viewpoint is educed too. It puts forward theory model of governance model based on the principle of automatic control system structure. Lastly, it mainly explores the model of IC’s legal-person governance structure.Chapter 8, studies on the operational management of IC. It discusses two issues mainly from three aspects, including IC level, corporate level and individual level. Firstly. with the IC’s association as the agent on an IC level, public affairs integration is discussed. Secondly, with virtual enterprise (VE) and virtual team (VT) as the agents on a corporate level and personal level respectively, IC’s operational management is discussed.In summary, this dissertation is a result of interdisciplinary research covering regional economy, management theory, systematic science, etc. By emphasizing the discipline attributes of "integration management theory" in the research direction, focusing on the domain of "IC" in the research object all along, carrying out the main line of "exploring general management theory of IC" when putting forward research technology, this essay aims to further the theoretical studies more abundantly and deeply, specifically, to further enrich research of integration management theory together with relative theory of IC, so as to provide a theoretical guidance for the transformation practice of Chinese enterprises.
