Research On Transformation Of China’s Tire Industry Based On Low Carbon Economy

In 21st century, global warming has become one of the most serious problems that the human society has to face. The IPCC assessment report pointed out that global warming caused by carbon emissions of human activities has significantly affected the development of human society and economy, and it will continue to deteriorate if people don’t do anything. Developed countries presented low carbon economy as the core of industrial revolution, so as to alleviate the serious influence to human being caused by global warming. Tire industry as the traditional manufacturing industry, with the characteristics of high energy consumption, high pollution, high emissions, has been unable to adapt to the global development trend of low carbon economy, choose the low carbon economy development model to achieve the industrial transformation has become the primary task for China’s tire industry.From the perspective of low carbon economy, based on the theory and method of economics, management and chemical engineering, such as the theory of circular economy, industrial development, industrial transformation, and so on, the dissertation analyzed the present situation and trend of tire industry both at home and abroad, described the practical motivation and carbon emissions motivation for the low carbonization transformation of China’s tire industry. Based on low carbon economy theory, the dissertation used the AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to make the empirical analysis of the tire industry development, and proposed the ideas, mode and policy suggestions for the transformation of China’s tire industry based on low carbon economy. The dissertation can be divided into the following parts:The first part is the introduction and theoretical research. The introduction includes the background, purpose and significance of the research, the related literatures, the main contents of research and innovations, the methods and thought. In the part of theoretical research, defined the concepts and analyzed the theories including circular economy, low carbon economy, tires, tire industry, green tire, the theories of low carbon economy, industrial development, industrial transformation, the characteristics of tire industry, the connotation of China’s tire industry transformation, laid the foundation for empirical research.The second part is the analysis of international environment and the prediction of development trend of China’s tire industry. Firstly, based on the analysis of the international industrial environment of China’s tire industry, pointed out the trend of development of green tire for tire industry in abroad and its enlightenment to China; secondly, described the present situation of China’s tire industry, and predicted the production and demand, pointed out the development trend, and revealed the prospect of transformation towards low carbon economy for China’s tire industry.The third part is the analysis of motivation mechanism for China’s tire industry transformation based on low carbon economy. It revealed realistic motivation of China’s tire industry transformation from five dimensions, and measured the carbon emissions of tire industry using life cycle assessment, pointed out the pressure of carbon emissions and potential of low carbonization transformation for China’s tire industry.The fourth part is the empirical study, which evaluated and analyzed the development level of China’s tire industry based on low carbon economy. Constructed the evaluation index system based on low carbon economy, took the AHP to get the index weight, and used AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate and analyze the development level of China’s tire industry based on low carbon economy, which provided the empirical basis for low carbonization transformation.The fifth part is application study, including two chapters. According to the problems of low carbonization development of China’s tire industry, pointed out the guidelines, objectives and ideas, and proposed the transformation mode and mechanisms, including the transformation of resources utilization, industrial structure, industrial organization, the government mechanisms and the social public consumption.The dissertation drew the following conclusions:the traditional extensive growth mode of China’s tire industry can’t adapt to the development of low carbon economy abroad and the new normal of economy in domestic, so the industrial transformation based on low carbon economy is an inevitable choice for China’s tire industry. Based on low carbon economy, promoting China’s tire industry transformation needs not only the transformation of resources utilization, industrial structure, industrial organization, but also the establish of mechanisms and the guidance of low carbon consumption.
