Our country is the largest developing country in the world.Recently, the economic disparity among regions is quite prominent. It has posed a tremendous challenge to the rapid and sustainable economic development and the maintenance of social stability. Therefore,as an objective social and economic phenomenon, the regional economic differences have become the focus of academic and even the whole society's attention. It is also one of the important research subjects in the fieldofregional economic studies in our country in recent years. The state proposed in the 13th Five-Year Plan that it will rely on the golden waterway in the Yangtze River to build a high-quality integrated three-dimensional corridor of traffic and build the Yangtze River Economic Belt into a precursor demonstration zone for ecological civilization construction in China with innovative driving belts and coordinated development zones marking the strategy of the Yangtze River economic belt has officially risen to the national strategy. However, going deep into the economic belt of the Yangtze River,we can find that there are obvious differences in its regional economic development. In some places, there still remain strong local protectionism and market segmentation. These phenomena have serious constraints onthe coordinated development of the Yangtze River economic belt. Therefore,a deep understanding of the differences in economic growth in the Yangtze River economic zone and the existence of the convergence effect are of great significance to the coordinated development of the Yangtze River economic belt. The traditional geographical theory of regional economic growth is regarded as a homogeneous and independent spatial unit, ignoring the spatial linkage between regions and the spatial mobility of such elements as technology, capital and labor. The results obtained are compared One-sided.Therefore,based on the new economic geography, this paper introduces the spatial perspective into the traditional analysis of regional economic growth, focusing on the spatial effects among different regions and studying the convergence of the economic belts in the Yangtze River from the perspective of econometrics.First of all, using the traditional descriptive statistics to analyze the status quo and changes of economic development in the Yangtze River economic belt.Secondly, the method of spatial exploratory analysis is introduced.By means of spatial distribution map, global spatial autocorrelation test and local spatial autocorrelation test, the spatial distribution pattern, geospatial effect and evolution of regional economic conditions in the Yangtze River economic zone are statistically analyzed. Finally,we introduce the space lag measurement model and space error measurement model, and verify whether there exists the ? convergence, the absolute ?convergence and the conditional ? convergence in the Yangtze River economic belt through empirical analysis.Through research and analysis, this article draws the following important conclusions:1.From 2000 to 2015,the economic growth rate of the Yangtze River economic belt is generally inverted U-shaped.Before 2007,the rapid economic growth in the Yangtze River economic belt was mainly driven by the rapid GDP growth in the Yangtze River Delta Region. In 2007 Since then, the success of the central and western regions in the Yangtze River Delta region has become the main driving force for economic growth in the Yangtze River economic belt. The absolute difference in the level of regional economic development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has been significantly expanded, mainly due to the base effect brought by the economic growth of social development, while the relative difference has undergone a process of first expanding and then decreasing. The trend of economic differences among regions and regions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is roughly the same. Both of them experience the process of first expanding and then shrinking, and the effect of shrinking is obviously higher than that of the expanding effect. The concrete eastern and central regions show an inverted U-shaped structure, while the western Regional economic differences have been declining.2.There are three major spatial distributions of East,West and West within the Yangtze River Economic Belt. From east to west, there are three stages of spatial distribution.Among them, the eastern part of the Yangtze River converges to the coast.the middle part of the Yangtze River has divergent effect, and the western part shows Y-zone.There is a significant and strong global spatial positive correlation between the economic growth of cities and states in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the three phases of growth-decline-stabilization and recovery. There are obvious high-high agglomeration effects in the east, some low-high agglomeration effects in the periphery, and low-low agglomeration in the central and western China. Some high-low agglomeration effects appear in the capital cities,And the positive spatial spillover effect brought by geographical connection within the Yangtze River economic belt has become more obvious while the negative spatial spillover effect is being gradually eliminated.3.From 2000 to 2015,there is a phenomenon that the differences in economic development in the Yangtze River economic belt have narrowed There is no ?convergence before 2004 and ? convergence after 2004.There is a trend of convergence in the eastern and central regions after convergence. The western regionhas always had a clear phenomenon of ? convergence. From 2000 to 2015,the regional economic growth in the Yangtze River economic belt has significant absolute ? convergence and conditional ? convergence. The exogenous control factors accelerate this convergence effect. In addition, the spatial effects of the cities and states in the Yangtze River economic belt affect the regional economy Growth has a significant positive effect, but also has a more significant impact on the convergence rate.
