Mechanism Of Information Sharing In Food Traceability System Dominated By Core Enterprises

"Food security" has become one of the top issuses concerned by Chinese people over the past three years. Behind this widespread concern, it demonstrates a growing number of food security incidents coming with rapid economic development. Currently, as a goble issue concerned by domestic and overseas societies, food security is attracting more and more attentions of our nation. How to solve this problem has become an urgent social project.Through the transmission of food security information to eliminate information asymmetries, food traceablity system has been taken as a management system to ensure food security. In this research, it mainly focused on each participator’s information sharing behavior. What trying is to eatablish an mechanism of food traceable information sharing and promote food quality and security.In this research, it applied signaling game theoty, evolutionary game theory, regulation theory and system theory to establish the research framework. And based on the specific research objects and problems, this reseach was devided into three parts:firstly, it descriabled the current situation of food traceability syetem in domestic and overseas countries and pointed out the main problems in China’s food traceability system; seconedly, by concentrating on information, it analynized the mechanism of information sharing between enterprises, consumers and goverments; thirdly, it combined all the conclusions in the last part, and put forward the further research direction.In this research, we believe information asymmetry is the essential reason of food quality and security problem. And in food traceablity system, if we want to sovle the problem through information sharing, we have to concentrate on core enterprises’ information delivery, upstream enterprises’ information sharing, government information regulation and consumers’ information acquisition. In this research, we found:(1) high-quality enterprises should take the initiative to disclose information, send food traceability information to consumers, and through this way, they could achieve a separating equilibrium to obtain the trust of consumers and markets;(2) leading core enterprises to participate food traceability system by cutting their participating cost, could drive other enterprises to share information;(3) through heavy penalty and social regulation, government would be able to eliminate "false information" phenomenon and turn the market into a good one;(4) that consumer informed food quality and security information would be helpful to provide a high quality at a high price for food and guarantee good-qulity enterprises’profits. And we sguugestted more accesses shouled be provided to consumers to acquire information and improve their awareness of food security.Main innovations and features of this research:(1) it take information as research perspective, and discussed the mechanism of information sharing between each participant in food traceability system;(2) Based on field and theorarical research, it demonstrated how to improve the level of information sharing though the interaction between each participant in a successful food traceability system.
