Research On The Role Of The Policies Of FDI In Vietnam

Nearly 30 years since to innovative policy was adopted in Vietnam, Thanh Hoa Province’s economy has occurred many concrete transformations in industrialisation and modernization. The foreign direct investment(FDI) has taken an important role in these changes. However, besides the success, the developmental process has revealed many weak points, for instance: the economy is almost completely dependent on the Economic Sectors which have the advantages in resources and low-wage employers. The agricultural output as a proportion of the economy already takes a huge percent in the whole GDP of the society. More over, the industrial scale and service proportion have been increased but not enough if we consider the country development.In the reality, the provincal government essentialy focuses on the local-improvement and follows the similar evolutional models but does not set the targets on the advanced economic sectors. This trend leads to the emulation in mobilizing the FDI among the provinces, so using this resource in Vietnam and in each local province is inefficient and it is not exceptional in Thanh Hoa Province.This thesis organizes some important contentions about FDI in the local provinces. Meanwhile, it also shows the research and expreriences about FDI applying in Thanh Hoa Provine.The thesis generalizes the principal problems of the economy and society in Thanh Hoa Province in order to display both advantages and disadvantages in attracting FDI. Over and above, it clarifies the policy of the government in attracting FDI and deeply examines the real situation of FDI in Thanh Hoa Province(numbers and limits of projects, the investing sectors and investing partners...)Following this approach, the thesis interprets the impacts of FDI into the development of Economy and Society of Thanh Hoa Province and straightens out the imperfection in attracting FDI.Based on the experiences from 2006 til now, and the developmental strategies nowadays with the economic forecasts for Vietnam and The World, some solutions are presented to urge the attrating FDI process from 2015 to 2020 and to 2030.The research of attracting FDI with the role of FDI in the local development has related to many aspects in the society. This form is new in Vietnam. In addition, with the limits of knowledge, the context of this thesis still has not been fully completed. I hope to receive many contributed ideas from the Board Management and people concerned.
