Research On Comprehensive Performance Evaluation Of Nonferrous Metal Mining Listed Corporations Based On Multiple Weighting Topsis Methods

The performance of mining listed corporations has great impact on the sustainable development of mining industry. Comprehensively and objectively evaluating and improvingperformance of mining listed corporations has great theoretic and realistic implications.Weighted Topsis method is a good and frequently used method for comprehensively evaluating enterprise performance, however, the method is lacking in the studies of comprehensiveperformance evaluation of mining listed corporations. Besides, either clarifications of performance indicators or weighing method of Topsis has some problems need to be solved by a systemic and in-depth study in this specific field.This study has combined topsis method with several weighting methods for constructingadequate evaluation model on the basis of performanceindicator clarification of mining listed corporations. Then, the author has conducted the comprehensive scoring and ranking ofthe financialperformance of 24 listed corporations in 2013-2014 years in the non-ferrous metal sector of China. Furthermore, the author has deeply studied 4 weighting methods comparatively, i.e. entropy weighting, CV(Coefficient of Variation) weighting, CV- Critic weighting and CD(Coefficient of Difference)- Critic weighting. Among them, the study has indicated that CD- Critic weighting method which the author firstly conceived is the best one. Furthermore, the author has found out the defect of formula in the traditional Critic weighting and suggested the improved one.In the end, on the basis of this positive study, the thesis has indicated the existing problems of both financialperformance and its evaluation of non-ferrous metal listed corporations in China: compared with better performance listed corporations, the underperformance ones have prominent gaps in the aspects of profitability, debt paying ability and operation ability, moreover, even thelisted corporation of best score has sign cant gap to the ideal one and have large room for improvement. Besides, the thesis hasanalyzed the leading causes of their underperformances, and offered the suggestions that improve both performances of non-ferrous metal listed corporations and the method of comprehensive performances evaluation for listed corporations.
