Analysis Of The Cultural Landscape Of The Veranda Achitecture In Hometown Of Minnan Overseas Chinese In Mordern Times

"The evolution of veranda architecture in South Fujian in modern times" is a cultural landscape of modern regional architecture, it has not been fully understood. The in-depth study of it can clarify the blind spot of Modern Chinese Architecture History, extend the horizon of arcade research, enrich the understanding of architectural landscape of the South Subtropical and reveal the features of regional architecture landscape in Southern Fujian more deeply. The subject is one of the early research of the project "Protection Guidelines for typical buildings in historical towns and villages", which is the sub-project of the "Eleventh Five-Year" Plan Project supported by National Science and Technology (item number:2008BAJ08B02), and supported by Natural Science Foundation of Affairs Office of the State Council also. The research results have reference value to carrying out protection work to cultural landscape of typical buildings--"veranda architecture" in southern Fujian in the future.In the course of the study, combined with architectural typology, regional architecture, cultural anthropology and other related theories, inspired by the analogy to biological knowledge, the author deduced the "Building type adapts to local environment" theory, and studied with empirical methods such as mathematical statistics, graphic mapping, image contrast and literature archaeology under the guidance of this theory. The results in general showed that veranda architecture as a building type occurred geographical adaptation three-dimensional prosperity in the "triple scale". Specifically, it included the following three-part research content and results.First, part of background research. The author elaborated on that veranda architecture as a building type was essentially a building principle existing in the psychology. And discussed that it has different adaptability under different environment with the historical development, and its prosperity in the world showing the regional distribution unbalanced. The author noted that the rise of the "colonial veranda architecture" wave of based on the actions of colonists in the modern global environment especially. And he proposed to concern about the "generalization-colonial" building boom phenomenon after the "colonial veranda architecture" wave. The author thought the prosperity of veranda architecture in modern Southern Fujian just occurred in this historical background. The paper also analyzed the environment features of modern Southern Fujian, then its subtropical climate and the complex multi-cultural social and cultural characteristics. All of these paved the way for its special prosperity.Second, major part. The paper revealed the fitness prosperity of veranda architecture in modern Southern Fujian at triple-scale landscape level innovatively, which were regional architectural landscape, urban street-house landscape and building landscape. At regional architectural landscape level, the paper discussed "fitness prosperity of groups", the author thought it can be said that history of building developments in modern Southern Fujian was a special interpretation of the history of veranda architecture to some extent. The paper analyzed four space derivative pictures of group multiplication, calculated and cognized groups feature of veranda architecture with "high relative density", "explosive growth rate," "a wide range of regional distribution" and other relevant characteristics with reference the analysis of biological communities. The paper also conducted a study of public behavioral psychology for the reasons of group multiplication scene of veranda architecture, and clarified that it not only related to the public's experience outside the domain, such as in Southeast Asia, Guangdong, Taiwan and so on, but also related to the public's cognition of "veranda's local climate adaptation" and "veranda tallied with gray space of traditional architecture in Southern Fujian". At the same time, the author found the other important reason for prosperity of veranda architecture according to French scholar Le Pen's group psychological principle, that was "group madness".At building scale landscape level, the paper discussed "multiple performance to regional adaptation of single veranda buildings" inspired by "divergent adaptation" phenomenon species occurring in complex environment. Analyzed localization performance of varieties of styles in single veranda building in modern Southern Fujian, such as the Asian modern colonial style, the Islamic style, Europe ancient Greece and Rome, classical, Gothic, Baroque, Modernism, Yue legacy, Chinese classical style, traditional style in Southern Fujian and towers form; Analyzed evolution of the form diversity of the internal space of single veranda building in terms of following the traditional ritual layout and using foreign-based layout; Analyzed special performance of varieties of means to build skills in single veranda buildings, such as local red brick building technology skills, traditional stone carving skills, clay and other ceramic technology skills. The author also concerned about the underlying reasons of these diverse performance scene, and unscrambled romantic feelings context caused by colorful unpredictable scene of single veranda buildings.At urban street-house landscape level, the paper discussed the "arcade shop-house" as a special collection of veranda architecture, which appeared largely showed that prosperity of veranda architecture in modern Southern Fujian has "sublimated". In fact, there were still local veranda building aggregates such as "veranda brother-house ", "long veranda house" and other class of non-arcade shop- house. The paper also discussed the reasons for regional adaptive derivative of arcade shop-house in the environment of modern Southern Fujian, discussed its group Planning and characteristics of local adaptive evolution of building unit, and discussed its street-aesthetic experience, which containing regional spirit.Third, part of relative discussions. The author compared veranda architecture in modern Southern Fujian with colonial veranda architecture in modern Chinese architectural history, summer retreat veranda architecture and veranda architecture in Guangdong Wuyi, and thought that the former prosperity was relevant to the latter flourish and they had different performance. The paper discussed the typical characters of veranda architecture in as modern buildings landscape in southern sub-tropical, and also compared it with modern buildings landscape in northern cold areas. Stated that it is an important feature section of traditional region architecture landscape in modern Southern Fujian, and discussed the problem of flourishing simultaneously to "arcade shop-house" and "veranda architecture class of non-arcade shop-house ". In addition, the author looked ahead at problems of heritage protection and real change of veranda architecture cultural landscape in modern Southern Fujian in contemporary.
