| Objective:To observe the influence of You Tang Ming granule,which had the functions of replenishing qi and producting jing,nourishing liyer and kindneys,activating channels of eyes to improve eyesight, on retinal microvascular and retinal gangliocyte in STZ-diabetic rats. Methods:In the present study,we used a model of diabetic rat with Streptozotocin(STZ)-induced. All diabetic rats treated after 6 months,which lasted for 3 months.Their retinas were studied by means of pathomorphology,light microscope,hnmuncytochemisty. Results: (1) You Tang Ming granule could decreased type LV collagen of retinal capillory basement membrane of STZ-diabetic rats. (2) The activity?of PKC in retinas of STZ-diabetic rats were decreased in You Tang Ming granule group. (3) You Tang Ming granule reduced the level of serum insulin-like growth factor-i in STZ-diabetic rats. (4) You Tang Ming granule could enhence bcl-2 in retinas of STZ-diabetic rats. (5) You Tang Ming granule prossessed the protective or improving effects on the retinal gangliocyte. Conclusion:You Tang Ming granule can prevent and cure the damage of retinas in STZ-diabetic rats.
