Objective:To eva1uate efficacy and safety of Chinese CompoundPrescription/Nao1ikang capsu1es (NLKC) by pharmaco1ogy and toxio1ogyresearch, and provide foundation for clinical trials and application.Methods:Phamaco1ogy studies adopt orycto1agus curicu1us athero-sclerosis and musculus remembrance function bindrance model, set modelgroup, void control group, positiye control group, and NLKC high, middle,low dose group. The effects were observed by monitoring the inf1unenceof NLKC on blood and aorta 1 ipid, hemorrheology, l ipid peroxidation (LP0),thromboxanceB: (TXfu) Y 6--keto--prostag1andinF1 Q (6--keto--PGF, Q ), thick-ness and stage of atherosclerosis plaque, pathology of aorta andcoronary artery, and remembrance function. Toxiology experiments werecarried out by obserying acute and 1ong--term toxic reaction of NLKCon mice and rats.Resu1ts:0ur exprimemts manifest NtaC can prominently regu1ate1 ipid metabo1 ism, improve condition of hemorrheo1ogy, maintain homosta-sis of TXfu/6--keto--PGF,. l resist oxidation, lower liver index, reducethickness and stage of atherosclerosis p1aque, and promote remembrancefunct ion. Toxio 1ogy experimemts indicate NLKC's maximum to1erant dosageis as 358 times as c1inica1 dai1y dosage, and no significant 1ong--termtoxic were observed, so the clinica1 dosage is safe.Conclusions:NLKC have the effects of preventing and treatingcerebral arteriosclerosis, the mechanism involve respects of al labove, and it is safe in clinica1 app1ication.
