In addition, the philosophy embodied in his cultivated music brings inspiration and thinking to the development of modern music. The author believes that the development of modern music should try to set itself in a normal non-utilitarian state of mind and get out of the shadow of Western avant-garde musical style, (The author does not oppose Western avant-garde music, which actually gives promotion to the development of modern music. The author only thinks some kinds of Western avant-garde music usually ignore the existence of "root" due to its over-emphasis on certain technique), which is bizarre and "a flash in the pan", then really create works having "roots", which are the excellent traditional culture and traditional thinking. Only having deep "roots", will leaves grow luxuriantly. Only having good "roots", will fruits grow abundantly. Therefore, no matter what direction modern music will go in the future, the existence of "roots" should not be forgotten. This paper analyzes Qu Xiaosong's music, aiming at studying the literati spirit in his music on one hand, and provoking musicians'deeper thinking on the culture in music on the other hand. Just as Qu Xiaosong's music "suggests the eternal silence through voice", the author hopes to inspire people's deeper insights of cultural connotation by Qu Xiaosong's musical "form", in order to gain richer aesthetic connotation and greater aesthetic significance.
