A Sort Out And Research On The Bronze Inscriptions Of The Shang Dynasty

The thesis focuses on the collation and research on the bronze inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty.Based on the exhaustive collation of the current research result of the Shang Dynasty inscription, comprehensive collection and classification of the bronze with inscription, it is concluded that on the exploration of early form of Chinese character, the Shang Bronze Inscription is more important valued than the Shang Oracle bone Inscription.Paper explores the configuration characteristics of the Shang Bronze Inscription, pointing out that the directional liberty and symmetrical structure are the biggest features of the configuration of Shang Bronze Inscription. In the interpretation of Shang Bronze Inscription, the importance of diction should be taken into consideration, inspected by the diction. From the character configuration of the Shang Bronze Inscription, self-explanatory characters, pictographs, associative compounds and pictophonetic characters have been existed in Shang Bronze Inscription which as the origin of Chinese character, and most words in the shang bronze inscription could be explained by the Hexateuch theory. The line section of inscription has certain affection on some allomorph caused by the casual changes of character inner structure, which is influenced by composition, writing space and other factors, this is another feature of shang bronze inscription. The content of inscription has the option to the character's structure, not only the difference between clan inscription and general inscription; even the same form in different content, the writing could also reflects the tendency of businessmen.Exploring some knotty words in shang bronze inscription. For clan inscription like"(?)","(?)","(?)","戈"etc, make deep researching and collating from the word annotation, owned bronze quantity with inscription of each clan, and inscription content etc., and put forth our opinions on some issues.Study on some specific questions of shang bronze inscription. In the overall grasp of the material, selectively focus on discussion of some issues of shang bronze inscription, including the relationship between the Shang bronze inscriptions and the Zhou calligraphy, pointed out the view that Zhou calligraphy was a commonly used text in the last Xuan era of the late Western Zhou Dynasty is credible; the study of quantifier in Shang bronze inscriptions, etc. Based on new materials, we review that there are no ancient and modern relationship between "fan(反)"and "fan(返)"In the meaning of "returning",they are Interchangeable characters.Comparison on the copies of "Shuling(戍铃)"wine vessel,we read all the inscription carefully and make a supplemengt on it.We compile a wordbook of the shang bronze inscription which includes four parts, such as the main text, the Combination of words "hewen(合文)",the Duplicated words "chongwen(重文)"and the appendix. There are 641 individual characters which are put in order of (<说文>);and there are 303 Combination of words including the common and the special types; and there are two Duplicated words, and there are 614 words in the appendix. We category the words with more Pictographic nature according to the characteristics of the word form. and the remaining that we are not sure the form type is put in the appendix.there is the same rule in the arrangement of the special Combination of words.
