Regarding the transformed in the 1990s as the research object, this paper is intended to explorethe rheological trail and existing form of"Avant-garde Novels"after the 1990s. It firstly argues that"Vanguard", as a kind of cultural spirit of openness, is not a closed concept, but a flowing state withchanges in the external environment. The connotation and denotation of "Vanguard" is established bycomprising with the tradition and mainstream institutional. Therefore, "Vanguard" is not limited to a fixedperiod of time, but in the continuious process in which the new factors are constantly absorbed andachieved the renewal process of its own. From the perspectives of the sociological meaning, thecorresponding "vanguard literature" should have two aspectsï¼›the first one is the heterogeneity of itsthoughts, reflected on the rebellious of the existing power discourse; the second one is the artistic spirit ofinnovation, which varies and destroys the existing style standard and in variability of the expression pattern. And the real"Avant-garde Novels " should also refer to the exploratory and creative works which havebeen or are different from the tradition or the mainstream noves in style and thoughts.According to the course of development of Chinese literature in 1980s and 1990s, as a history ofliterature concept,"Avant-garde Novels " is basically confined to a formal revolution from the point ofview of experiment style, although it often appears in many contemporary literatures. Therefore, the scopeof the concept always causes many prejudices and ambiguity to the"Avant-garde Novels " in the 1990s,and even make us to turn a blind eye to the vanguard of the artistic exploration. Based on this, this paperregards the "Avant-garde Novels"in the 1980s and 1990s, and the works of"Younger Generation"as acontinuous update of the avant-garde movement and then analyzes the whole changeable process ofChinese"Avant-garde Novels"from the generation, development, establishment to variability.Avant-garde Novels "in the1980s is more stable than that in the 1990s."Avant-garde Novels "inthe 1980s imitate more of the modernism, and is mainly against the realistic writing patterns. Gettingresources from the Western theoretical tradition, its writing not only clung to the grand narrative of theconstruction of modern nation, but also shows the plight of individual being enlightenment care. Instead, asthe early testing factors are widely accepted, the judgment standard of the"Avant-garde Novels " in the 1990s has become the height of the spirit and difficulty in construction; the object of the realistic narrativepattern is no longer the main obstacles to overcome. The public cultural behavior has put it in a verydangerous position from the commercialization mercerization. Both the western post-modernism andtraditional Chinese narrative resources have a significant impact on avant-garde art, which makes thepioneer in the manifestations become more abundant and heterogeneous. Therefore "Avant-garde Novels" in the 1990s doesn't come to an end. In fact, without the way toproperly decompose and resist the realistic narrative in the 1980s, it enters an important "transition" period. The main contents are as follows:First of all,"Avant-garde Novels"writers in the 1980s, such as Yu Hua, Ge Fei and Su Tong, inthe 1980s started to"escape from history" or temporarily"reconcile to realism ". For example, the changeof Yu Hua's folk, Ge Fei's reference of Chinese traditional culture, Su Tong's return to the classic posture, etc. Combining the unique indigenous life experience and artistic creative expression, on the one hand, theydeveloped their areas of creativity, on the other hand deepened their understanding and expression ofChinese contemporary life. And they become one of the important parts of"Avant-garde Novels"in the1990s.Second,"Younger generation"writers, such as Han Dong and Zhu Wen, hold the same distinctiveand pioneering feature. With inheriting and resistance in writing from the former writers, their rise areestablished on the revolt of the 1980s.On one hand,"Younger generation"writers inherited the narrativerevolution of pioneer novelists of the 1980s, on the other hand, they also realize the rebel and beyond of theprevious " Avant-garde Novels " They keep a distance between themselves and the mainstream literature. With its distinctive personal narrative and desired position of expression, they become the successor of thepioneer spirit of the 1990s. The most orthodox"Break"event in the late 1990s fully revealed their efforts toresist the system and get innovations. In this sense, we may take it as the truest expression of the pioneerspirit in the context of the 1990s.Third, the pioneer writers, such as Sun Ganlu, Can Xue and Bei Cun, expanding the performancearea, largely adhere to the pioneering writing of the 1980s, and adhere to the loneliness of the pioneercreation in the 1990s.Some still highly hold the flag of the exploration of language form; others analyzesthe human nature in-depth; and the other research with a transcendent faith to continue the spirit of a pioneer experiment. In addition, this paper also emphasizes the 1990s literature periodical and the problem of therelationship between the developments of the pioneer novels. In the 1990s with the promoting of marketingeconomy comprehensively, a brand new social and cultural production system began to appear. in thepursuit of profit maximization logic under the control of the market, the center of gravity of the literaryproduction activities are leaning to the publication of the works, publication and dissemination tilt, etc. Thepure literature periodical of the 1990s like Harvest and Flower city not only offers great support to thepublish of"Avant-garde Novels ", but also become the important creative transformation of testimony of"Avant-garde Novels " in the 1990s. So it is of great importance to investigate the vanguard literatureperiodicals and its editing, which possibly reveals the complex correlation between the development "Avant-garde Novels "of the 1990s and China's social change from a different perspective.
