Study On Criticism History Of Metaphysical Poems

The Metaphysical Poetry, a unique poetry phenomenon in the ancient China, rose and was popular in Two Jins. It is a new hot point in current studies. Since 1990s, the evaluation on the Metaphysical Poetry has transferred from the negative views to the objective views of researching its characteristics and exploring its formation and influence on the later poems. Currently, more and more research results on the Metaphysical Poetry come out. Meanwhile, there are also lots of controversies. Besides, the lack of classification and analysis on previous criticism materials, to some extent, limits the further research on the Metaphysical Poetry.There are two parts in this paper: the part one tries to collect and analyze the criticism information from Two Jins dynasties to the Republic of China, to find out the previous researchers'criticism attitudes toward the Metaphysical Poetry ; the part two is a comprehensive study, proposes the concept that"The Metaphysical Poetry is defined as a religious experience poem expresses the understanding of life."The part one includes the following:First, the criticism appeared in Two Jins and Southern Dynasty. The aesthetic standard of "rules of rhyming and philosophic theory clear"had been proposed in Two Jins. However, Southern Dynasty insisted on the rules of the Confucius'"Shi Jing"(the Classic of Poetry) .Second, criticism appeared in Tang dynasty to Qing dynasty. Under the influence of traditional criticism of the Confucius'"Shi Jing"(the Classic of Poetry), the criticism of"old style and interesting differences"had been formed for the Metaphysical Poetry. Third, criticism appeared in the Republic of China. The criticism attitude was affected by the criticism of new literary history.The part two is the comprehensive study, mainly analyzes the religious characteristics of Metaphysical Poetry from the external religion-transmit environment and internal creative expression. It includes the following:First, Qingtan and the performance of Metaphysical Poetry. The Metaphysical Poetry focuses on the expression of life. Second, to analyze the changes of Metaphysical Poetry style from the spread of Buddhism and Taoism and the acceptance by the scholars. Both the fairy poems and metaphysical poems are expression of religion spread and the acceptance by scholars. Third, the literature study on the Metaphysical Poetry. It emphasizes the understanding of life nature, rather than poetic aesthetics of"principle-interesting".
