Yugur Multicultural Context Of Contemporary Literature

It is commonly believed that literature created by all the writers of Yugu nationality since1949belong to their contemporary writings. With regard to the development of the literature, the Yugu's contemporary writings, which began in the middle and late1950s, has achieved unprecedented development recently with the maturity of the continuous growing writers and constant growing of fine works. The Yugu's contemporary literature is evolving into a symbol representing Yugu's multiculture with its advantages in its splendid nationality, geography, history, religion and folk culture.The thesis based on text analysis puts the Yugu's contemporary literature into a large multicultural background, which is composed of cultural conflicts and exchanges among its unique ethnic culture, central Chinese culture and other culture, and objectively examines its full view. The thesis mainly consists of the following four chapters:Chapter One generally covers the construction of its writers, literary achievements, present development, characteristics of different stages from its beginning, shaping, developing and thriving as well as its representative writers.Chapter Two starts with two important narrative materials of ethnic history and folk literature in Yugu's contemporary literature and probes into allegorical expression that has reproduced its test history and the phenomenon and formation of stylistic variety to reveal the home-returning complex and spiritual construction of Yugu's contemporary writers.Chapter Three delves into natural geographic, social and historical environment at the northern foot of Mt. Qilian in central Hexi corridor, revealing the influence that the unique ethnic tradition and religion have exerted upon the structure of culture ideology, aesthetic pursuit and artistic expression and showing the endless charm in the contemporary text-writing of Yugu nationality.Chapter Four examines the causes, meanings and values of Yugu's endless root-finding writings through exploring complex and subtle inner experience of Yugu writers, who are principal part of Yugu's contemporary literatary creation, and who root in Yugu's multicultural context.When we re-examine all-round prosperity and depth development of Yugu literature since the middle1990s in the background of the thorough lost of contemporary literature, the charm of the text itself naturally comes into our focus. Frankly, Yugu culture became visible for readers because of its distinctive geography, features in its ethnic culture and its concern for survival and environment. Nevertheless, what Yugu's contemporary writers present to readers are not only the nationality's unique religious prospects, colorful folk cultures, rich customs and ways of production and life but also its spiritual pursuit, aesthetic value orientation, and consistent annotation and precise expression of Yugu's cultural spirits exclusively of Yugu in the shallow structure of language, custom and religion.
