Gratitude affection is a traditional Chinese virtue, it is also an important moralaffection, which refers to the gratitude when individual accept other s help. Therefore,the study of gratitude affection not only has the positive meaning for handing downthe traditional culture of China and to construct the harmony society meanwhile offersthe scientific evidence for the further intervention.We can develop studies on gratitude from different perspectives, this study hastwo research perspectives in trait gratitude feeling and state gratitude emotion. Traitgratitude feeling refers to the stable affection experience that the individual alwayshas a generalized tendency to respond with grateful emotion to other s help. Study inthis perspective helps us know the individual differences of gratitude feeling. Stategratitude emotion refers to the immediacy affection experience the individualresponse to other s help when in the gratitude emotion. Study in this perspective helpsus know the individual variability of gratitude emotion. In the aspect of systemicintegration this study revealed the connotation and essence of gratitude affection,explored the formation mechanisms of gratitude affection and do the further developresearch in intervention of gratitude affection improving on the basic of past study.This dissertation undertakes four parts empirical researches revolving round thecontents above.The first part of the empirical research concentrates on the construction andgeneral situation of trait gratitude feeling by investigative research. In this part, thespecific contents include: developing a questionnaire of trait gratitude feeling inaccordance with the theoretical framework of trait gratitude feeling; investigating thepresent situation of university students trait gratitude feeling.The second part of the empirical research focuses on the generation of stategratitude emotion. In this part, the specific content includes: on the base of stimulatematerial of scene stories, exploring benefit-cognitive appraisals (seeing the help asmore altruistically intended, more costly to provide, more valuable) are shown to have a causal effect on state gratitude emotion by an experimental research.The third part of the empirical research focuses on the formation mechanism ofgratitude affection. In this part, the specific contents include: using stimulate materialof scene stories, exploring the effect trait gratitude feeling and benefit-cognitivereappraisals on state gratitude emotion, and the effect interrelationship andbenefit-cognitive appraisals on state gratitude emotion; according to the theory of therelationship between emotion and feeling and their generative mechanisms whichwere put forward by Pro. Lu Jiamei, we finally summarize the basic formation modelof gratitude affectionThe fourth part of the empirical research focuses on the promotion of gratitudeaffection by intervention. In this part, the specific contents include: carrying outlaboratory experimental researches to study methods of cognitive reappraisal (that isreappraisal motive, reappraisal cost and reappraisal value) which are shown to have aeffect on the promotion of state gratitude emotion and explore the physiology index ofgratitude emotion as the first step; carrying out a spot experimental research to studythe effects on promoting gratitude affection by group intervention activities, accordingto how to promote state gratitude emotion.From the researches above, this dissertation comes to conclusions as follows:1. The "Questionnaire on Trait Gratitude Feeling" in this study is of goodcredibility and validity; it can be counted as means of evaluating university students trait gratitude feeling.2. As a whole, the trait gratitude feeling of university students in China arepositive, but still needs to be improved. There are substantive differences in gender,grade, major, only child or not, subsidy or not. The interaction in the following reachin a significant level: gender and grade, grade and subsidy or not, major and subsidyor not.3. Benefit-cognitive appraisals are the key elements of individual s gratitudeemotion generation. Results show that, three cognition conditions of the beneficiary ingratitude emotion: the perceived intentionality of the benefit, the relative cost of thebenefit, and the value of the benefit. Motive, cost and value significance influencepeople s gratitude emotion, but no interaction is found.4. Trait gratitude feeling moderates the influence of benefit-cognitive appraisalson state gratitude emotion, in the situation of high benefit-cognitive appraisals, thescore of high trait gratitude feeling group s state gratitude emotion is higher than the low trait gratitude feeling group significantly; in the situation of low benefit-cognitiveappraisals, the score of high trait gratitude feeling group s state gratitude emotion ishigher than the low trait gratitude feeling group which reaches to the very remarkablelevel.5. Interrelationship moderates the influence of benefit-cognitive appraisals onstate gratitude emotion, in the situation of high benefit-cognitive appraisals, the soreof state gratitude for stranger is remarkable higher than acquaintance; in the situationof low benefit-cognitive appraisals, the sore of state gratitude for stranger isremarkable higher than acquaintance.6. The laboratory intervention research shows that individuals state gratitudeemotion can get promotion through methods of reappraisal motive, reappraisal costand reappraisal value; trait gratitude emotion related to the index of BVP rate, BVPamplitude, SC and other autonomic response indexes.7. The spot intervention research shows that trait gratitude feeling can getpromotion through daily accumulation of state gratitude emotion. Through lectures ofgratitude, cognitive intervention practice of gratitude and emotional experiencepractice of gratitude, it can promote gratitude affection feasibly and effectively.
