The purpose of the dissertation is to study the internal regularity of the marriage test in the Mongolian epic and how it emerges, develops and changes. The traditional marriage test in Mongolia epic is a form of the contradiction between the hero and his future father-in-law : the hero's proposal was refused by the girl's father ;he must succeed in all sorts of tests which his future father-in-law required - the horse race, wrestling and archer race, and only when he passed them eligibly would he be able to marry the girl.In this dissertation I made use of a great many of historical records, folklore, cultural and archaeological materials, and textual research which are on the originality of marriage test in Mongolian epic. My conclusion is:The marriage test in Mongolian epic has two types. The first is that the hero had to accomplish a series of tasks his father-in-law asked for, the tasks were so dangerous that he was sometimes nearly dead. This type derives from the Mongolian clannish society when the serving marriage exists. The second type is that the hero must go through three trials including the horse race, the wrestling and archer race. It is not a folk custom, but a marriage test which is always in the folk stories. My study solve the marriage test, a very complex problem in the Mongolian epic, and also discussed how the worldwide custom of marriage test origines and devolops.
