The Jin and the Southern Song Dynasty are" the second Northern and Southern Dynasty".though having conquered the central Plairie by force.it showed great sense of identity towards the Han nationality civilization,by pursuing the policy of Hanization.taking over the Chinese language and characters,and putting men of letters of the Han nationalityin an important position,as well as promoting the four forms of Chinese poetry-verses,dittoes,odes and songs,etc. Even some supreme rulers were famous for their brilliant Ci writing.Thus,ci,as a literary genre,didn't come to stagnation due to the South-move of Jin people. Instead,it had some new development different from the Tang Dynasty,the Wudai Dynasty.theNorthern Song Dynasty as well as the Southern Song Dynasty.However owing to various reasons .although the Jin ci enjoys unique value.it was in a state of being negelected for many years. After the publication of Mr Tang guizhang's Complete ci of Jin and Yuan Dynasty in the late 1970s,some achievement have been made in the Jin ci research While in the main the writers remained to be arranged in time order.it's hard to be grasped by readers on the whole.(examples are Liu fengtao's Research into earler Jin Dynasty and Huang zaohan's Ci History of Jin and Yuan Dynasty .etc) Therefore in this dissertation I select "ci writter groups"as the research point of view.and by combining the time fashion,aesthetic fashion and trends,state of mind of the men of letters and other elements,! change the former research of individual writers into group writers .thus make it possible to macroscopically grasp the complete picture of Jin ci and to present the clear line and clue ofits development and school changes.on the base of which,the special quality and value of Jin ci is better seenTaking this as the starting point,my dissertation divides the Jin ci writers into fourgroups:Wucai group,"guochao" group.Adherents group and Quanzheng Taoism group.Six chapters are designed:Chapter 1:Introduction.This chapter first introduces the final conclusion of thehistorical positon of Jin Dynasty .ie. the Jin and the Southern Song Dynasty are the second Northern and Southern Dynasty in Chinese history.Making this definite is necessary for understanding the minds of state of the ci writters in Jin dynasty.The historcal reality showsthat the Southern Song Dynasty and Jin were called "the Southern" and "the Northern"by each other then.At that time,Jln accepted the Han nationality civilization as a whole and claimed itself to be the :orthodoxy".ln this chapter.the Jin ci research by past dynasties are also reviewed in much tenth,meanwhile,supported by exaustive material.the rationality of dividing the ci writters into four groups is expounded and reasoned .chapter 2:The new variety in the ci circle of earlier Jin dynasty resulting from"the Sudoctrine prevails in the north "-Wucai group research.The earlier Jin saw a lift the banon Su and Huang's doctrine and an open atmosphere of employment of talents of other dynasties.enabling a fairly high starting point of the creation of ci as a genre .Under the strong influence of Su ci,there appeared some variations of multi-aspects by Wu ji,Cai songnian and Wanyanliang in the composition of ci.all of whom made up the Wucai group. Wuji made some innovations on the creation of xiaoling.and his ci transfomed verses ofpredecessors into shorter ones.thus creating the effect of choking with sobs.His works were also distinctive for gentleness and gracefulness. Cai songnian's ci presented the unique athestic quest of Ji man and Yuanming by melting strong life conciousness into the works.Wanyanliang ,Deng qianjiang and some others' works are obstinate and unruly.vigoriousand powerful,as was shaped by combination of grand style like Dongpo and the 'austerity of the northers.Such a new creative outlook of Wucai group even had certain influence on Xin qiji who returned south later on.Chapter 3:The resurgence of the flowery style of love ci in the flourishing Da Ding era and the...
