The thesis researches Chinese "Revolutionary Literature "in 1920's by the method of History, Aesthetics of Reception , Narratology, Story Pattern, Comparative Literature and Political Culture. It studies the plentiful and complicated features of "Revolutionary Literature" by combining theory and works, authors and readers , macrocosmic and microcosmic, diachromque study and syncnronique research. The thesis includes five parts:I .An introduction to "Revolutionary Literature""Revolutionary Literature" is not a literary phenomenon which happens suddenly in 1928. It has been brewing for a long time. Different social phases make "Revolutionary Literature" a different picture. Taiyang Organization and Post-Chuangzao Organization are the representatives. They make "Revolutionary Literature" thriving by their joint writers, works and periodical publication.II .the popularity of "Revolutionary Literature"I think "Revolutionary Literature" is popular to readers than a complete political inclination and grand narrative of ideology. First, continual social disasters make revolution normal, so it's evitable that literature reflects revolution. Second, the theme of "Revolutionary plus love" promotes "Revolutionary Literature" popular because it satisfies young men's eager for dream, enthusiasm and romantics. Its popular features as swordsman fiction or sentimental novel also suit readers' taste. Third, "Revolutionary Literature" fits readers' needs by it's narrative style, story pattern, characterization, language and aesthetic style.IILPractice deviating from or surpassing theory in "Revolutionary Literature"First, "Revolutionary Literature" attaches importance to the description of the workers and peasants, but writers express the intellectuals' ideas on the pretext of the workers and peasants. Correspondingly, their desired readers are also exchanged for young students. " Revolutionary Literature" becomes a soliloquy among the intellectuals. Second, contrary to the theory of emphasizing collectivism and against individualistic heroism and romanticism, works often show a color of individualism. One person, not the masses becomes the leading character in most wonderful works. Third, Theory of emphasizing content and ideology is deviated. Many writers work hard at artistic form and acquire strong aesthetic style.IV.Theory resources and writing achievements" Revolutionary Literature" in 1920's is influenced by the proletarian literature of the Soviet Union and Japan. Theories are almost from the two countries. The thesis Compares Chinese revolutionary works "Wind Through Field" with classical works " Destruction " and " Iron Flow ".V.Theoretical questions that "Revolutionary Literature" revealsOne question is about the relation between literature and politics. Politics is almost the important thing in social life, so literature must be closely related with politics. If the political function is magnified, the literature loses its artistic charming then. The other question is about forming literary organization. Organizing writers is advantage to literary flourish; it also brings about literary factionalism, which does harm to the development of literature.
