Since the 80's last century, a flourishing situation arises in Chinese linguistics, before there never w as a s ituation 1 ike t oday. A 1 ot o f \v orks a bout 1 inguistic s tudy, c orresponding d ifferent aspects and nooks of societal structure, are published one after another, even to such those special linguistics not valued all along as taboo language, mysterious language, religion language, cant, name language, vending language, ect. However, author can't find one book about gambling language research in quantity of bookstores and libraries by now. Considering lack research in gambling language, author is determined to explore the "Inland" of it, and wish to achieve. The compendium of every section is presented as follows.Chapter 1 consists of tow respect substances: 1) Author reviews the evolution of gaming and gaming industry, recounting history, current situation, community position as well as effect of gaming industry in Macao.2) Author puts stress on stating the research aim and status of study on ?gambling language, as well as the limited materials for reference. Further more, the author also introducing the general situation of gambling language and the source of glossary, illuminating a series of means which to being used in this article, such as describing combined with explaining, synchronic appearance combined with diachronic appearance, qualitatively analysis combined with quantitatively analysis, field survey combined with experiment, ect.Vanous characteristics are briefly analyzed one after another in Chapter 2, such as contextual forcing quality, semantic concealing quality, cultural rustic quality, code梥witching grade quality. And in this section, author uses quite length to discriminate between gambling language and other relevant words, such as popular word, jargon, cant, taboo language, ect. In order to determine the range of gambling language, author also analyses the crossing and distinction between them.In Chapter 3, author gives observation and classification on formal structure of gambling language, through surface form into the depth of semantic structure, in order to comprehend gambling language much more thoroughly. On the basis of materials collected, four forms of gambling language can be summed up to, including mono-morpheme structure, complex structure, four words format and structure of discourse. The majority of mono-morphemes are monosyllabic, but quite a few are disyllabic. Some of them are Fanqie (反切)structure of cantoness, some of them are translation from pronunciation of foreign language, or from Chinese Lianmian (联绵) words. And from the angle of linguistics, it also can be divided into noun quality, verb quality, adjective quality, measure word quality, ect. Certain structural relation exists inside complex structure, accordingly we can divide gambling language into two great types: affixation and compounding. Affixation contains prefix and suffix, and compounding can be divided into five types by traditional way: subject梡redicate, verb梠bject, compound word, complement word and endocentric word Four words format is relatively more complex, some are Chinese idiom, some are being put together temporarily and established by usage in gaming.
