This paper is mainly about the communicative structure of Russian sentence. We divide the development of communicative structural theory in Russian linguistics into two stages. The first stage is from the early 50's of 20th century to the end of 70's. In this stage scholars mainly constructed the theoretical system of communicative structure. The second stage is from the 80's to the present. Compared with the first stage, research of this period has the multi-dimensional characteristics, which is the important part of this paper. In the first chapter, we introduce the development of communicative structural theory in the first stage, summarizing scholar's viewpoint on some elementary theoretical questions, such as the standard and the method of actual division of the sentence, the categorical sentence and thetic sentence, the relations between the syntactic division and the actual division, theme/ rheme and given/new. On certain questions, we propose our own views. In the second chapter, we introduce one aspect of the development of communicative structural theory in the second stage. The scholars have carried on a more careful division to the communicative structure, and presented many new concepts, like attenuated theme, wackernagel theme, recessive theme, independent beginning, meaning theme, superposed rheme and so on.The most important part of this paper is from the third to the sixth chapter. We emphatically elaborate the relations between the communicative structure and some categories of semantic and pragmatic levels, like referent of nounphrase, presupposition, lexical meaning and the different meanings expressed by different sentence stresses. Then we point out the role of those categories in constructing the communicative structure. All the above constitutes the basic content of this paper.
