| The article researches on the calligraphy historian and theoretician Zhang-Huaiguan who lives between Tang dynasty Kaiyuan and Qianyuan period and his nearly 10 famous writings. It mainly embody in that the former calligraphy history writings focused on calligrapher's experience all their life, whereas Zhang focused on their art style. In the opinion of esthetics, "Expression" which is canonized by Zhang has synthesized the conception of interior "numen" with exterior "pattern". "Expression" has close relationship with the conception of "Yinxiu" which was brought forward in Liu Dynast. In the opinion of describing nature.
