Under the background of Chinese Art Education Revolutionary the dissertation studies in detail the art education thoughts of Lowenfeld and Eisner which have deeply influenced art education of many countries. Especially, the contribution and the malpractice of them as they rich our own Art Education system .The study aims at investigating the practical meaning of them to Chinese Art Education in connection with the problem and prospect of normal and elementary Art Education in China today.(a) Elaborating the meaning of studying Foreign Art Education . In view of the basic condition of Chinese Art Education, the author affirms the importance of studying the western art education in the process of Chinese education revolutionary . Moreover, from the implementalism and essentialism of American art education field, it starts to study the art education thoughts of Lowenfeld and Eisner.(b) Probing into the contribution and the malpractice of Lowenfeld. At first, with the base of Lowenfeld's thought , the article states the background of it . And the theories of Value , Children phase, Art Treatment and Heuristic Teaching of Lowenfeld . Meanwhile, it deeply probes the problem and the malpractice of Lowenfeld' thought.(c) Analyzing dialectically the contribution and the malpractice of Eisner . With the base of Eisner's thought, the article states the background of it. And the theories of the value and DBAE which Eisner put forward . Meanwhile, it deeply discusses the problems and malpractice of Eisner' thought in the process of practice .(d) Confirming the enlightenment of Lowenfeld and Eisner's thoughts to Chinese art education . As far as the problems of Chinese elementary and normal art education are concerned , with Chinese education revolutionary 's foot, the contribution and the practice experience of two art thoughts will all solve how to build the creative and strict system in Chinese art education . Another, as the art education thoughts of Lowenfeld and Eisner have all neglected the basic art accomplishment of students , the dissertation points out the importance of it and one art-circle curriculum system in Chinese art education which combines many kinds of curriculum methods .(e) Prospecting the future of multi-culture developing in art education. With the developing tendency of world culture , we stresses very much Art Education for fostering the excellent talent. We should concentrate on studying various kinds of art education thoughts to build our own art education system.
