Many scholars have gradually integrated PCK with relevant researches on teachers'education reform and professional development since Professor Shulman put up with the PCK in 1986. As a competent English teacher, the expertise of English is certainly crucial, but it doesn't mean a good English teacher to have a mastery of English knowledge. Also, he must have a good knowledge about how to do English teaching, namely,.the PCK. As far as the English majors of the normal university are concerned, the English curriculum in China is far from achieving the goal of cultivating the teaching abilities of English teachers.Based on the reality, the thesis combines PCK theory with the English education curriculum of the normal university, and through such methods as literature reviews, theory researches, and case analyses, and systematically combing the construction, development, reform, and discovery of the normal university English education curriculum of China, with a view to finding out the developing difficulties in it. Then, we'11 put up with advice on furthering reform the normal university English education curriculum of ChinaThe body of the thesis includes three chapters.In chapter one, it combs the research results about PCK theory at home and abroad, discovers and discusses the formation of PCK, defines the concept, connotation and ideal composition of PCK, and points out the influence of PCK theory on the establishment of teachers'education curriculum.In the beginning of chapter two, it combs the history of the construction and development of the normal university English education curriculum in three periods, the establishment and grope period, the reform and development period and the self-development period. Then, it points out the problems existing in the normal university English education curriculum based on the present situation of the English education curriculum arrangement of English major of F Teachers'College. What's more, it selects Southern China Normal University and Hainan Normal University which are representatives of the English education curriculum reform as cases, integrates them with literature research and discovers the difficulties in reforming the normal university English education curriculum.In chapter three, it does researches on the normal university English education curriculum from the viewpoint of the PCK theory. Therefore, three conclusions can be arrived at:first, we must make clear the training grade of the objectives; second, we must establish curriculum structure protruding PCK; third, we must give priority to the practice of the normal students in curriculum implementation, and strengthen the combination of English educational theories and practices.
