Patterns of culture is a system of social ideas of the nation (or nationality, or ethnic group), is an important problem of ethnology. Patterns of Manchu culture is a complex system of social ideas, the item belongs to a new realm of Manchuology. Traditional research approach to patterns of culture primarily is to adapt to patterns of primitive ethnic culture. Manchu is a complex nation who is different from the primitive ethnic groups, for study her patterns of culture well, we must improve and develop the traditional research approach to patterns of culture. If we study it with the methods traditional participant observations in a community, individual interview, cross-culture comparison research, historical documents research, and die method to study the history of thought and theory, and combine them together, then we could expatiates the patterns of Manchu culture completely in the macro view, melt thinking mode, behavior, mental states, concept of values, thoughts and theories of Manchu to a whole.Patterns of Manchu culture is divided into an introduction and eight chapters, these contents include as follows:The houses of Manchu families and their surroundings, the structure of rooms and their furnishings, own their characteristics, and they give the important influences in the behaviors, mentality, concept of value of Manchu people, in men environment, Manchu people highly value the groups, pay attention to the differences between ourselves and strangers, hygiene, open to the community, value public opinions, and broadly admitting the new members and forgive others. Manchu families are that of paternity, when they admit one as a member of their families, they mainly emphasize whether he or her owns the same blood relationship with them, but don't remove the 'field' where they live together. A daughter who got married still owns the qualification of family member when her parents are living. In a Manchu family, the wife usually, is in predominant position and plays a leading role. The parents value the eldest son, but more value the youngest son, value the man, but do not look down on the woman, son or daughter-in-law probably becomes the head of a family in a united family. Manchu people respect the old man, value the filial devotion to their parents, and the love of the parents to their sons and daughters are not the whole distance services, filial devotion to his parents is link to the love of the parents. In Daicing dynasty, Manchu people combine the loyalty and filial devotion to their parents they advocate that the loyalty to the state is higher than the filial devotion to parents, abiding by the law and cherishing the people (namely dependent people or subordinate) is equal to filial devotion to parents, the stupid love to parents is not real filial devotion. If a Son grows up and builds his family, he would depart from his parents. Who provides services for parents, who inherits the properly. Manchu people solve the puberty problem through the form of marriages; Manchu government help the people establish the families, declaring the free principle in marriage. Manchu people pay attention to protect the pregnant women with their infants, bringing upinfants with binding measures. They think that child is different from adult, stay in the maturity. For children of preschool age, Manchu people value moral education, emphasize the importance of relatives group, encourage children to control themselves, not always depend on parents. When children arrive the age to teach them, they could be taught. They teach child according to their different personality, arrive the goal of socialization of children through their participant action and observations in their community. Manchu myths, talking about the origins of the world and human, do not evade the sex, but had not any direct description of sexual desire, mentality, feeling and action, applied the implied form of the metaphor to express sexual consciousness and concept.
