Siku Quanshu is a series of books that were compiled in Qianlong period in Qing Dynasty and the biggest in history in China, and it has been famous for "the comprehensive summary of ancient books and records, the gathering place of culture". There were seven copies when it was compiled. Now only three copies were remain due to suffering a war. Siku Quanshu, which had been preserved in Wenshuo attic of the summer palace in Shenyang and now preserved in Wenshuo attic of the library of Gansu province, is one of three that is the most valuable .The researcher are few because the photomechanical printing and reprinting were prohibited. Therefore, researching on the original and the process of circulation systematically, concluding the experience and lesson of the process of circulation, probing into the approach of making use of it, not only have great academic value, but also have a great significance on the reality.Siku Quanshu is composed of four parts that are the compiling and character of it, revising, circulation, the presenting condition of preservation and development and utilization. The main ideas of chapters are the following.Chapter One: the compiling of Siku QuanshuThe compiling of Siku Quanshu is inevitable result of development of political, economoc and cultural in Qianlong period, but is an important cultural measurement that ruling class consolidated the politics. The compiling of Siku Quanshu experienced a series of procedures that were the collecting of books, arrangement of books, compiling and checking, and it was completed by more than 4000 people within 15 years. Siku Quanshu was full book of the second part and has some character and values such as the number of sorts, contents and bookbinding. The author discussed the relationship between Siku Quanshu and relevant books through unique visual angle.Chapter Two: the revising of Siku QuanshuSiku Quanshu has been revising and checking after it was compiled and preserved. There were a series of books by destroyed and changed, there were eleven sorts of books destroyed and twelve sorts of books changed, this changed the original form of Siku Quanshu,, and destroyed the integrality and reality of documents. Siku Quanshu experienced checking for 2 times from 52 in Qianlong period to 57 in Qianlong period. The re-checking of Siku Quanshu was charged by Lu Xixiong who was in charge ofcompiling, and there are some faults in checking, but this promoted the quality of the book in some degree. Siku Quanshu was completed through arranging books that was pre-left and books that wasn't compiled duo to all kinds of reasons from the end of Qianlong period to the beginning of Jiaqing period. The author researched on the changing and revising of Siku Quanshu through rich documents, especially some unanswered questions such as the specific details of the destroying of Siku Quanshu, at the same time, the author put forward unique opinion on effect of it.Chapter Three: the circulation of Siku QuanshuSiku Quanshu was destroyed seriously from the end of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of Ming Dynasty, the books in Wenzong, Wenhui and Wenyuan attic disappeared, more than half of books in Wenlan attic was destroyed. Only the book in Wenyuan, Wenjun and Wenshuo attic were intact. Siku Quanshu of Wenshuo suffered a lot through it was preserved. Some books of Siku Quanshu in Wenshuo attic disappeared during China was invaded by allied forces. Yuan Shikai sent Siku Quanshu to Beijing and preserved there,at that time, Siku Quanshu was almost stolen by imperial family of Qing Dynasty and sold to Japanese. Siku Quanshu didn't send back to Shenyang city until it preserved in Beijing for more than ten years; It was sent to Lanzhou and preserved in the library of Gansu duo to the need of the war. There are uncountable heroes during the circulation of Siku Quanshu.
