Middle Ancient Literary Theory had an important position in Chinese Literary Theory and Criticism History, and it marked that the development and mature of Chinese Literary Theory and Criticism, and it was named "conscientious literary theory and criticism". The reasons of the conscientious of the Middle Ancient Literary Theory are many-side, but important reason is the merge of Confucian school and Taoist school. The paper main approaches the relation between the merge of Confucian school and Taoist school and reveals the reason of "conscientious" of Middle Ancient Literary Theory.Chapter one, I have explained the merge of Confucian school and Taoists school and the culture trend of Middle Ancient Literary Theory. Confucian school and Taoist school is two great schools of thought in Chinese Philosophy and Thought History, and their source is the culture of Xia, Shang and Zhou, especially developed Zhou culture, and they had inherited Zhou culture from different culture angle and had formed opposite and complementary opinion. The relation of opposite and complementary made them formed the form of concurrent and merge in the future development, especially in Middle Ancient the form was very obvious. The merge development of Confucian school and Taoist school exerted important function and influence for the culture trend of Middle Ancient Literary Theory and Middle Ancient Literary Theory showed the feature of Confucian school and Taoist school in the theory source, it is said the culture trend of Middle Ancient Literary Theory is also concurrent and merge of Confucian school and Taoist school. The concurrent and merge was different in different history terms. In the Han Dynasty, the form of merge of Confucian school and Taoist school is concurrent of Confucian school and Taoist school but Confucian school is main thought, and so, the trend of literary theory is main Confucian school and Taoist school is second; in Wei and Jin Dynasty, the Xuan school is main trend of social thought, and so, the form of merge of Confucian school and Taoistschool is main Taoist school and Confucian school but Confucian school is not main thought, and so, the trend of literary theory is main Taoist school and Confucian school is second; in South and North Dynasty, because the development of Buddhist school, the merge of Confucian school and Taoist school became concurrent of Confucian school, Taoist school and Buddhist school, and so, the literary theory showed concurrent of Confucian school, Taoist school and Buddhist school.Chapter two, I have approached the inside relation between the merge development of Confucian school and Taoist school and the conscientious consciousness of Middle Ancient Literary Theory. The concurrent of Middle Ancient Literary Theory stems from producing of conscientious consciousness of literary theory man. The reasons of producing of conscientious consciousness of literary theory man are many-side, and the main reason is that middle literary theory men received Confucian school, Taoist school and Buddhist school. In Middle Ancient, the merge development of Confucian school and Taoist school promoted the individual independent consciousness of human to awake, and the awaking of the individual independent consciousness promoted the conscientious consciousness of literary theory to produce. The form of producing of conscientious consciousness of literary theory is difference in difference history term. In Han Dynasty, because the individual independent consciousness of scholars was in awake, the conscientious consciousness of literary theory men was being in beginning; in Wei and Jin Dynasty, because the individual independent consciousness of scholar had established, it promoted subject conscientious consciousness and aesthetics consciousness to produce and marked the individual independent consciousness to deep; in South and North Dynasty, because Confucian school, Taoist school and Buddhist school were concurrent, the individual independent consciousness became mature, and it promoted the conscientiou...
