Li Suiguang (1563—1628), courtesy name: "Runqing, assumed name: "zhifeng". His whole life works are contained in Zhifeng Collection in 31volumes and Zhifeng Analogy in 20 volumes. Among them, his collections of pomes have 23 volumes, He may well say an ancient famous poet in Korea; His works on learning study have 25 volumes so he was the most famous Korean scholar in the 16th and 17th century; Because of his over 1300 items on commenting poems and articles, he was a famous Korean literature critic, too; Being official circles for 44 years, up and down, he was the most important politician during the Mingzong dynasty and the Renzu dynasty; As a veritable diplomat at that time and a famous envoy, he visited the Ming Dynasty three times (During that time, he carried out the extensive culture exchange with the messagers coming from "AnNan" and "LiuQiu".) and joined in many diplomatic activities to welcome the messengers from the Ming dynasty. His works are rich and wide, concerning many fields, such as, astronomy, geography, biology, calendar, medicine, politics, economy, history, language, literature, religion, philosophy, which have become the most important documents for helping us to study the ancient politics, economy, philosophy, history, literature, etc. in China and Korea.Based on the value and the position of Li Suiguang's literary critical theory in the study of the relationship between Chinese and Korean literature theory, especially in the Korean ancient literature critical history, I chose this topic according to social history criticism, aesthetic criticism and comparative study. The main body of this thesis has four aspects; the study of Li Suiguang's philosophical thinking and literary thinking as the second chapter; the study of literary theory as the third chapter; the study of the literary form as the fourth chapter; the study of the writer's theory as the fifth chapter. This is a creative, theoretical, systematic structure on the study of the literary criticism. The second chapter, i.e. Li Suiguang's nature philosophy which concerns the Confucian School of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming dynasties in China and literary thinking are the premise and the basis of the whole thesis's structuie, fhis chapter is made up of three components, the question to Li Suiguang's real study thought, the intension of Li Suiguang's nature philosophy, the literary thought of Li Suiguang's nature philosophy. In this chapter, the creative and projecting value lies the study's angle which I chose from Li Suiguang's nature philosophy, not from Li Suiguang's real study thought like other former scholars did. Meanwhile, I studied the basic viewpoints in his remarks on the relationship between the articles and Neo-Confucianism, i.e. "the usefulness" (theory) and "the uselessness" (disposition). Moreover, I explained the value and the significance of his literary thinking theory on nature philosophy. The third chapter is about Li Suiguang's literary theory category. This part is designed and refined from the literary inherent theory, literary creation and literary aesthetic critical theory. Based on these theories, I finished the explanation about Li Suiguang's literary criticism theory—the disposition theory, the vigor of style, the prevailing spirit, the nature theory. At the same time, I excavated his outstanding value in Korean ancient literary criticism theory and the unique value in the relationship study of Chinese and Korean literary theory. The fourth chapter studies Li Suiguang's literary form, which has the outstanding and far-reaching significance to Korean literary critical theory. The theory of the literary form is different from the study of the literary form. The latter is about the producing achievement. The former belongs to the literary criticism, which shows the mature character of the literary production and literary criticism. Li Suiguang's literary form is based on drawing on the experience of Chinese ancient literary style and the study on Chinese and Korean literary works. The study of literary form is about the study of the literary artistic form, the study on the literature's regression to the noumenon, which is the contribution of Li Suiguang's literary form theory. This thesis is explained and demonstrated from four aspects, Li Suiguang's self-conscious literary form awareness, Li Suiguang's theory on articles' system, Li Suiguang's theory on the style and Li Suiguang's aesthetic style theory. The explanation about this aspect supplies the defects that former scholars had studied about Li Suiguang's literary artistic form, also remedies the flaws on the study of Korean ancient literary artistic form criticism. The fifth chapter studies Chinese and Korean writers and works that Li Suiguang studied, which is the essential important component of Li Suiguang's literary criticism study. There many remarks on about 400 Chinese and Korean writers and poets. These poets and articles come from Li Suiguang's zhifeng collection and Zhifang Analogy works. Meanwhile, Considering the elements, such as the character of era and nationality, his remarks on Chinese ancient famous poets, writers and Korean ancient writers and poets, the limitation of the materials, I chose four parts finally, that are comments on Tao Yuanming (the period of Wei dynasty and Jin dynasty), comparative comments on Li Bai and Du Fu (the period of Tang dynasty), comments on Su Shi (the period of Song dynasty), comments on Che Tianlu (the peried of Korean dynasty). This is the real appearance of Li Suiguang's the writer's theory although it is not perfect. In conclusion, I have almost finished the whole structure about Li Suiguang's literary criticism through combing and integrating, which is based on Li Suiguang's literary thinking study, literary theory category, literary form study and the writer's theory study. Meanwhile, it appears the unique contribution and the outstanding value. The first point, the contribution to Korean ancient literary history. In Korean (POK) ancient literary history, the recognition to the value of Li Suiguang's literary criticism and the literary position of Li Suiguang is not enough. Through my combing and integration, it can show the mature and the completion of Korean national literary theory. At the same time, we con cognize the 16th and 17th century Korean literary outstanding value in the artistic quality, ideological quality, nationality, unique character through recognizing and studying the entirety of Li Suiguang's literary criticism. From the value of the literary history, establishing the entirety of Li Suiguang's literary criticism also makes a projecting contribution to the completion of Korean literary criticism history. The second point, the creative value of this thesis. Firstly, it can establish the whole connection of Li Suiguang's literary criticism and avoid the one-sided study if we study Li Suiguang's literary theory category, literary form theory, the writer's theory in the mutual relation among literary criticism, philosophy thinking, literary thinking, literary ideology. Secondly, through combing and integrating Li Suiguang's literary criticism in details, we can supply the theory of the literary form which can make Korean ancient literary criticism nistory rich and perfect. Thirdly, the integrating explanation about Li Suiguaug's writer's theory and establishing the system of the characteristic writer's theory founded Li Suiguang's outstanding position in Korean ancient literary. criticism history fourthly, the contribution to the connection of Chinese and Korean literary theory Li Suiguang's literary theory came from not only his nature philosophy but also the choice, criticism and acceptance to Chinese literary theory. It formed Li Suiguang's unique national literary criticism theory between the thought origin's and the theory origin's conflict and integration.
