Re-examine From The Perspective Of Realism, "a Dream Of Red Mansions"

Scholars attended to the characteristic of realism in The Dream of Red Mansion from 1920's. Through criticizing Yupingbo for studying the Dream of Red Mansion after 1949, Realism was used to affirm the importance of the works. Nevertheless, In despite of Engels'principle about "typical character in typical circumstance" being yardstick, they took away the base of humanity and individual connotation in this years. In these faulty cognition, The true relationship of realism and the Dream of Red Mansion can't be clarified.This thesis clarify Engels'theory at first, namely, typical is evident individuality based on true humanity, then, afresh understand the realistic feature of this works. The Dream of Red Mansion is a fiction based on author's own experience. The author depainted some lifelike character, because he was familiar with these character's prototype. He commiserated these people's place, and comprehended their heart, then he achieved realistic request. When Caoxueqin didn't know the character's prototype, he couldn't figure typical character.This thesis composes four chapters.
