Studies On Antonyms Of Monosyllabic Notional Words Of The Works Of Chuang Tzu

Ancient Chinese is the foundation and resourse of Chinese.To ancient Chinese,study on words of classic books is important and practical .The works of Chuang Tzu is one of the classic books,whose language is vivid,meaningful,poetic.Through many fantastic stories ,the author expresses his views of laws of nature,life and social.So there are many antonyms in the language of the works of Chuang Tzu .We altogher have 341 groups monosyllable antonyms after researching.We are trying to study the antonyms not only to provide arranged material and theoretical basis for the research of ancient Chinese but also to set a model of study on antonyms of special book.From this point,our study is necessary and important.The definition of antonym is words which have opposite or contrary relation on the items,which should belong to the same lexical system ,have the consistent grammatical function and appear certain cintext at the same time.The theoretical basis of the research is that Chinese lexical is systemic and can be expressed partly or completely.During the research Bi Jiao Hu Zheng Fa,Xi Lian Fa and Yin Zheng Fa are applied.The present thesis contains five parts.The first part deals with the latest study situation,achievement and puts forward the definition ofantonym and research method.The second part outlines the situation of antonyms of monosyllabic notional words of the works of Chuang Tzu.The third tests and explains the antonymy relation.The fourth shows the patterns of antonyms.In the fifth part,the author probes the formation laws of antonyms of monosyllabic words.
