During the last years of Northern Song Dynasty, Jiangxi Poetry School came forth. It was a genre of poetry, and had created by a group of poets, which led by Huang Tingjian and other 25 poets. The name of The School was obtained from the Diagram of Jiangxi Poetry Schoolby Lv Benzhong.Jiangxi Poetry School had had influence not only on Song Dynasty, but also on aftertime. By now, besides two monographs written by Mo Lifeng and Gong Pengcheng, many papers about studying Jiangxi Poetry School are published every year. The studies are, however, far from expatiating the famous literary school for its achievements in literature.Based on the achievements of other scholars, this paper is trying to outline the whole of Jiangxi Poetry School by tracing back its poetics origin, making clear the relationships of poets, doing textual research on poets' life, analyzing poems, and summarizing its literature accomplishments, as well as its shortcomings.The dissertation is divided into three major parts: introduction, main body and conclusion.Introduction:At the beginning of analyzing the Painting of Jiangxi Poetry School, the years of writing age of the Diagram of Jiangxi Poetry School will be found out, then defines what is the Jiangxi Poetry School, what are its characters, what the range of its study. There is also, in this part, an explanation of the importance of such a study, how the study is conduced and what aim is to be achieved.Main Body:This part includes eleven chapters.Chapterl: The first chapter is a brief study of the historic background of the Jiangxi Poetry School. The literature era of the Jiangxi Poetry School succeeds to the literature era of Yuanyou.Chapter 2: Study the head of Jiangxi Poetry School, Huang Tingjian. The first section is a study of Huang Tingjian's nonesuch value of moral foundation and poetic achievements. The second section is a brief review of his learning experience. The third section is a study of ways of how to writing poems Huang Tingjian taught the youngling.Chapter 3: Study of collective character of the Jiangxi Poetry SchooL Poets of Jiangxi Poem School had the same politics, the same attitude of life, and they succeed to the same science tradition.Chapter 4: Study of Chen Shidao, who was a representative poet of Jiangxi Poem SchooL He studied to Huang Tingjian and Du fu, then he got his own characters of writing poems. Moralistic meaning, as well as perfect expression, were characters of Chen Shidao's poems.Chapter 5: Study of Hong Peng, Hong Chu, Hong Yu, and Xu Fu. All of them were nephews of Huang Tingjian, so they were affected by their uncle. Hong Peng imitated Huang Tingjian simply, Hong Chu closed his uncle's creation, while the poems of Hong Yan and Xu Fu were with their own characters.Chapter 6: Study of Xie Yi, Wang Ge, Rao Jie, Xie Guo, who lived in Linchuan. They were both Huang Tingjian and Lv Xizhe's students. Among Linchuan poets, Xie Yi was adept in antiquated poems writing, Wang Ge was famed for his moralistic behavior, Rao Jie became a Buddhist monk in his youth, and Xie Guo kept his personal integrity in the period of Chongning and Daguan reign title. They were excellent poets of the Jiangxi Poetry School.Chapter 7: Study of Li Peng, Zu Ke, and Shan quan, who lived in Nankang. Li Peng developed Natural Poem. Zu Ke and Shan quan were two Buddhist monks.Chapter 8: Sudy of Pan Dalin, Pan Daguan, He Yong, Lin Mingong, and Lin Minxiu. All of them lived in Huainan. It is pity that many of their poems were lost The emphases of this chapter will try to show the poets life and style and features of their poems.Chapter 9: Study of Wang Zhifang, Chao Chongzhi, Jiang Duanben, and Li Chun. During that time, all of them lived in Kaifeng. Because a few poems of Yang Fu and Gao He, who lived in other area, were kept, they are merge into this chapter. Among them, Wang Zhifang is a link person of the poem school.Chapter 10: Study of Han Jv, who was a famous poet in the last years of the Northern Song Dynasty.
