The first half century of 20th century (1905-1949) is not only the transition of China from semi-colony and semi-feudal society to socialism society, but also an important period of the birth and development of film in China. In this period, there were great changes and transition in politics, economy, military and culture of China, and there were also notable changes in the images of Chinese female. After the May 4th Movement of 1919, Chinese female began their first self-liberation, and there appeared"new female"in Chinese history, but soon the"new female"were dumb in the patriotic movement for the liberation of China from semi-colony and semi-feudal society to socialism society. At the same time the fate of Chinese female was up and down with the development of unstable society. Film as a new art media began to play an important role in modern civilization. The dream-like characters of film makes film own the function of moral education and influence the integrated power of ideology while the female is an indispensable visualized image group of film. In the old and solid male community, the identities and social roles of female imply numerous history factors and ideological matters, and the changes of female in their life and spirit demonstrates the ideological development process of a society and the development process of democracy and civilization. Therefore there are many values because of the introduction of female issues into researches of the early China's film history. We can distinguish the sex ideology by decoding the female phenomena in the early China's film history in the view of feminism. From this point, to study the"nature"issues in"female phenomena"in the early China's film history is my study field.The theories adopted in my research are taking western feminism cinema critics as a comparison and having"man"in the centre. The paper outlines the basic states of female in the early China's film history by revivifying and recurring the historic phenomena. The basic states include the female (both actresses and female directors) who take part in the film work, and the female images presented in films. By analyzing the female issues, mainly concerned about the female images in the early China's film history, the paper decodes the male rights and ideologies hiding in it. On the basis of the analysis, the paper will make the development process of female consciousness of Chinese clear. In the view of creation and acceptance, the paper explores the suffering traditions and tragedies implied in the early China's film history, sets forth their taste characters, establishes the unique female images of Chinese nation, presses the varieties of Chinese films and type development, and predicts their positive effects on"female construction".
