With the development of economy, the advertising has become an important part of human life. It not only can help people choose the commodities, but also can enrich the human mind. Meanwhile, more and more scholars are doing research about the advertising from various aspects, so do the linguists, whose aim is to explore the basic rules of advertising slogans.All of the advertisements'aim is to persuade the customers to purchase the products or to propagate a kind of belief. In order to convince the public, it's necessary to do some descriptions with clear aims, that is, appeal. This essay takes the verbs in the advertising slogans of some kind of products as research objects, to analyze the semantic features of verbs and the semantic orientation, for the purpose of revealing the way how to use the semantic orientation of verbs to express the information of advertising appeal. At the same time, some questionnaires about the usage of verbs are designed to investigate the best semantic features of the verbs. On the basis of the questionnaires, the essay can reflects some appeal information about relative products to some extent. I hope the essay can provide some suggestions to the design and development of the advertising slogans.
