Feng Congwu (1557—1627),also named Zhonghao and Shaoxu and hosthomous title Gongding,was born in Chang'an (called xi'an now) Shannxi.Healong with Gao Panlong,who Passed the civil service examination in the same year as Feng and Liu Zhongzhou ,who was a senior fellow apprentice of Feng.took Xu Fuyuan as their teacher,who borned from the apprentice of Zhan Ruoshui .Feng is one of the most fomous scholor on Li study during the Late-Ming Dyrasty and is the representative of Guanzhong Li study.The Guanzhong College he founded and worked in is one of the four famous college in that age.He also founded Shoushan College with Zou Yuanbiao.Cao Yubian and Gao Panlong and so on in Beijing during the thirties of seventeenth century.The towcollege exerted a great infuence on the political and academic circles.Although had not been an officer for a long time,Feng got outshanding achivement,such as the suggstion to Wan Li Emperor despite of lost his life.Feng devoted himself to develop Guan Stuty,His ideology characterized by discrimination,which the inherited the true doctrine of Confucius and mencius and unified the theory of Xin Study and Li Study of Song and Ming Dynasty.Thecontest of his study generalized properly by himself was:'Taking Xin Xing as realing noumenon,sincerce and respect as Kong Fu,the concerned whole word as measurement,the freedom according with the confucinismcriterion as the foundmental principle.So long as I have a breath left.I will abide by this." His ideology generally interrelated with Dong Lin sclool.
