On The Family Economy Of Peasants In Tang Dynasty

In terms of the research being done on economy of peasants in Tang dynasty, this thesis puts emphasis on the following four aspects:Firstly, It studies the economic life condition under such system that field was shared equally in Tang dynasty. Besides paying the taxes and expense of daily life, peasants had the remainder which was 20 percent from the whole. In fact, economic prosperity of the whole society was dependent upon the individual wealth . Building on these facts, we could explain why economy was prosperous and national power.was strong in Tang dynasty.Secondly, this thesis makes the point of the impact made by two kinds of tax reform on peasants. The researcher's study mainly centers on the problem whether tax is increased or decreased, while the effect which reform of tax system had on management way of peasants is less regarded. This essay illustrates that the payment of currency remaining predominant and two kinds of tax policy over comparatively weaker control of living body of peasants diversified ways of management, aroused peasants' awareness that they should have a variety of management ways, made the classes of peasants divided, made rich peasants and tanent become a new group of powerful persons in country.
