Study Of The Early Qing Dynasty Viceroy System

The imperial inspector system is an important part of the politics system in the Qing Dynasty, when the inspector and the governor were the highest chief executives of every province who owned all kinds of power on judicature, administration, military, supervision, enlightenment. The imperial inspector system was established in the Ming Dynasty, initially as for temporary officials, and gradually transformed to standing local officials. After the Qing Dynasty was founded, because of the political, military need, this kind of system was not only inherited but also adjusted and perfected. And finally the governor and the inspector became the highest administrator holding the power for the military administration and civil administration in the border provinces.The imperial inspector system once played an important role in the Qing Dynasty. In other words, the establishment and perfect of the centralization system for the imperial authority benefited a lot from the imperial inspector system in a certain degree. Therefore, researches on the imperial inspector system can help us understand society and its the political system of the Qing Dynasty, as well as the effective operation of the local authority of the Qing Dynasty.The current research will be performed taking the imperial inspector system in the prophase of the Qing Dynasty as the research object and employ the statistic computation as the main research method, which can help us to perform a chronic analysis surmounting several dynasties based on the quantity statistic research on the inspectors and the governors family background and their official terms. In addition, the viewpoints and methods are also used to perform the research on the following aspects: establishment and evolution of the inspector and governor system of the prophase of the Qing Dynasty and also the mechanism of authority, inspection and surveillance of the inspector and governor. Meanwhile, the historical data research method will also be performed to find out the evolution and the development of the inspector and governor system.
