The Turning Of Writing Criterion Of The New Literature

The Taiyang Society is one of the important Societies which advocate the movement of"Revolutionary Literature". Influenced by the left-wing literature of the world, they enter into the literature field with passion and literary talent during the revolutionary period. From the beginning of 1928 to that of 1930, the Taiyang Society made great achievement in literary theory, literary creation, literary criticism and literary translation, etc., such respects and brought up Jiang Guangci, the chief novelist in the field of creation of Revolutionary Literature, and Qian Xingcun, the principal critic in the field of criticism of Revolutionary Literature, exerting much influence upon the literary field at that time. Founded at the turning of the writing criterion of Chinese modern literature, this society formulates its epistemology-practice literary writing criterion by the literary practices, the criterion which not only affects the development of the following proletariat and non-proletariat literature, but also leads to the profound change of evaluations upheld by the field of literary criticism and that of literary history, to the history of May Fourth literature and that of the literary history at home and abroad. Therefore, it is necessary to make a further exploration of this society and the formulation of its literary writing criterion.The considerations of this present study run as follows: the Taiyang Society was positioned in the particularly historical context of social and cultural period of the turning after the defeat of the great revolution in 1928. This paper firstly focuses on the investigation of the reason that the Taiyang Society is founded in Shanghai from situations of the military, the political, press and the cultural context, and that of its successful operation in the movement of Revolutionary Literature from the mastermind of the society; and secondly has a review of the theoretical situation of the literary writing criterion of the Taiyang Society, aiming at uncovering the main contents of the criterion completely and objectively; and finally studies the practices of the literary writing criterion from Jiang Guangci's literary creation, Qian Xingcun's literary criticism and other members'creation and translation.
