Studies On The Origin Of Poetry By Ye Xie

The Origin of Poetry by Ye Xie is the most excellent among the Chinese ancient poetry theories. Since 30's, research approaches and contents of Ye Xie's poetics have experienced great changes, which indicate that on the one hand, Chinese literary criticism has come into maturity stage, on the other hand, the poetics of Ye Xie as outstanding faculty of Chinese literary criticism has got more and more attentions. The thesis, on the basis of the formers'research results, on the respect of change of Ye Xie's poetics, has made a comparison research between east and west, centered on the logical writing method in order to enlarge the understanding of tradition and modernity, and extend the possible space of conversion from Chinese ancient literary theory to modern theory mutation.The preface of the thesis makes a brief introduction to the significance of the topic for the research and previous work by the other scholars, together with a general evaluation of the demerits of the previous studies.Additionally,some basic concepts closely related to the dessertation are provided with main frame and constructions.The first chapter analyses the connotation of premise theory, relative theory, turning theory of poetry history, criticism criterion theory, with the logical strain of thoughts from the arguments about resource and stream, root and branches, norm and mutation, upward and downward, heritance and creation, well familiar and well unfamiliar, accomplishes interpretation on poetry development pattern of Ye Xie's poetics.The second chapter, surrounding talent, judgment, courage, force, compares the eastern and western researches about poets as subject theory, then uses the theory combining knowing with doing to embody the relation about the theory Talent Judgment Courage Force further, and completes the studies of historical comprehension.The third chapter, through conveying the attribute of Circumstance with objective and non-objective, explains the principle, event, circumstance as subject-object theory, from the respect of logical basis and the Artistic Conception, with experience oriented, imagination streamed, relationship breaking targeted.The fourth chapter, centering on the poetry mutation, makes a historical study about critical method from the angel of philosophy, science, subject, with Ye Xie's Confucius moral quality oriented, social historical criticism outlined, artistic aesthetic criticism classified.
